Sammy Keyes and the Hotel Thief

Engaging beginning to a series. The protagonist faces real life problems and the characters are realistic and deftly drawn. This book will be the next read aloud in my 3rd grade class--it's good for the end of the school year, I think, as I think students will be engaged and want to read the next book in the series over the summer. Good book in the mystery genre with strong, believable main character. Young teen girl Sami solves mysteries in this series while dealing with her own life difficulties of her parents' irresponsibility and absence, the mean neighbors in the building where she lives with her grandmother (against the rules that children cannot live in the building meant for low income senior citizens), and learning to figure out how to manage social situations at school. This book is well written and engaging and a good book for 4th graders to read and discuss.

My daughter is in the 3rd grade, she read it as part of a class project, I grabbed a copy and read along too. Sammy is a likeable girl with lots of spunk. This book is good for kids up to middle school. - it was a little challenging for my daughter due to the number of characters, but she did managed in the end. She laughed and shared the funny situations that Sammy got herself into and couldn't wait to find out who the thief was.

My 9 year old daughter enjoys mysteries. She couldn't put this book down.

The book was purchased for a going into a 4th grade school summer project. My daughter enjoyed reading the book and so did I. Awesome read!

cleverly written funny book

Got this to read along when my son read it for his 6th grade class. We both really enjoyed it and plan to read more in the series.

My third grade class loved this mystery! We liked the plot, fascinating details, and it had some funny characters. It was interesting the way Sammy figured out who the hotel thief was! We hope you read it too!

What a great book. I enjoyed it. I laughed out loud a few times at work. I will read more of Sammy’s adventures.

中学生になったばかりのサミーが向かいのホテルを双眼鏡でのぞいていて、偶然に泥棒を見つけて、思わず手をふってしまったことから事件に巻きこまれます。痛快なのは、学校で酷い目にあったら、直ぐに仕返しするところです。時には直接行動で、時には冷静に、読んでいてイライラすることはありません。子供向けの小説で、時々良く分からないところもありますが、分からない単語は少なく、原書に少し慣れてきたくらいの人であれば、楽に読めると思います。１６０ページくらいなので、気の重くなるような小説を読んだ後の気分転換には最適です。良い気分で最後まで読めます。
