This product is simple but works very well. I had no concerns on that part when I ordered it. I did have major concerns about the adhesive it used though. A lot of reviews state its not strong enough to hold, or the piece falls off. So when I received it, I knew why people have had so many issues. Its not an issue with the tape. Its an issue with reading instructions lol. This uses 3M VHB tape. Its a very strong and resilient double sided tape, that works well when its applied correctly. So use these steps and trust me - it wont fall off easily! First you need to clean the entire area with isopropyl alcohol. Once it dries, remove the vhb tape backing and apply it to the door/side of fridge or freezer. Press firmly so to make sure all surfaces of the tape make contact with the appliance. Then, here is the most important part. DONT TOUCH IT FOR 24 HOURS MIMIMUM. When I apply vhb, I let it sit for 48 hours, but 24 is absolutely minimum. And now I get it, you need to get stuff out of your appliance. For 24 to 48 hours, it might be annoying and you might need to make plans in advance (coolers, order out, etc), but its worth it to allow the tape to bond properly. Use this method for anytime you use vhb tape!

So happy with this purchase! Highly recommend. - The cheap refrigerator our landlord recently installed in our rental has been driving us nuts. The design/quality of the fridge is awful. When the lower fridge door closes, the upper freezer door pops open. Other times, the freezer door doesn't stay closed, or pops slightly ajar when we simply walk by! Our ice cream was always soft, and we'd often find our ice cubes melted together in the bin. Bought this Fridge Door Latch hoping it would resolve our fridge problem, and was VERY pleased to find that it works like a charm! Our freezer door now stays LOCKED TIGHT shut! And seriously, our freezer items are rock SOLID ICE COLD now! No more soft ice cream or fused ice cubes! Yay! -- Installation was super easy, and the mechanism to lock/unlock is simple and intuitive. We were worried the latch would be "a pain" to use, but it has become a natural part of the freezer door as if it's a built-in handle. It's no more "a pain" than having to use a doorknob to open a door. AAA+

Instructions came stuck to fixture no protection on sticky part, I heard other customers complain about this. I don't know if this a return item , but I'm sending this trash back to sender. If it was something less then 1 this would qualify!!!!

I actually bought this for a standup freezer. Once in a while, someone would bump into it, look at it wrong, or think about it as it set in the basement and the door would become just adjar enough to cause it to defrost itself after several hours, if not a couple days standing a crack open in the basement where it was not noticed. I thought for SURE this last time that it was the freezer breaking and that the compressor or something went out.Nope. It was just open. In frustration I picked this lock up. While it DOES work, and works great, it does not fully stick to the door and body. This is due to it being on a freezer, which has a wide gasket gap. I can hardly blame the lock for that though.It does what it needs to do, and was very easy to install. I just wiped the area down where I was going to apply it with a bit of nail polish remover to ensure it was clean, peeled the backing off, and pressed into place in the best position I could find for my door. Poof, works great. I did have to modify it prior though, cutting a tab off the rear of it to ensure it set on the door and body correctly. Again, freezer.All in all very pleased. It's doing exactly what it needs to be doing. Keeping the door shut unless I want to open it. Push on the buttons, opens fine. I'm done? Closes with a click. Have not had an issue since.

It took my two twin grandsons 3 years to destroy the predecessor of the two I recently bought for my daughter's home. The lock is easy to open and snaps shut when you close the fridge or freezer door. My daughter is very happy with the lock. I highly reccommend this product, too. Please let Eudemon know that we appreciate their good work.

It's not long enough. I bought it for my upright freezer because the top doesn't seal well. The seal is, in my opinion, a fairly standard size seal, and if you use it as depicted in the listing photos it does NOT reach from the fridge body to the door. The second issue is that my freezer door is not exactly level with the body-it sticks out just a tiny bit farther, maybe a quarter inch. This makes it not line up to latch.I fixed both issues by gluing 2 pieces of 1/8" balsa craft wood together and then gluing that to the back of the fridge side piece (remove the adhesive first). I used gorilla super glue. Then I used some command strips to attach it to the freezer in the correct place.This solution works very well (though I used super cheapy command strips and will probably just super glue it to the fridge when they fail) but I give 3 stars because it doesn't work right out of the package and others may not have these supplies on hand like I did. It's also not the most aesthetically attractive solution, though it's a garage freezer so I personally don't really care about that. I would go with a different product if I needed to replace this.Update: I wound up gluing the fridge side piece to the fridge later that day. Today, about a week later, the adhesive (that came on the product, not the command strips I was using) on the door side failed and I had to super glue that as well.So all in all, if you aren't willing to do a lot modifications and permanently affix it to your fridge, go with something else.

Bottom line: this rocks!A few extra notes and observations...The design is robust.The parts are made with good materials.and with good precision: the parts click together beautifully.The 3M tape is a good quality PSA (Pressure sensitive adhesive) and survived my 2 year old Hercules and us forgetting in the beginning.... we put a reminder note in the handle for the first 3 days just to make sure the PSA had a good curing and strength. We were also extra careful.not to out strain on them in the first 3 daysTips for best installation. Sorry. I am.a mech eng. Enjoy.the nerdy stuff.Doors will.have different gaps so instead of aligning the small plastic tabs to the edge I put it in a way that both sides had sufficient 3M tape surface so the grip is balanced on both ends. I also aligned that edge tab with one of the folds.of the seal gasket. See photo.I installed.them attached together to ensure a perfect alignment. Remove tape, apply, press hard.Immediately after I installed them I applied monster force to them. PSA works like it I named: pressure. So I carefully pushed as hard as I could for 20 or more seconds to make surenthe vhemicaal reaction bind occurred strongly.We left them alone overnight and i thought of applying tape in the mean time just in case our sin tried to open the door before the PSA fully cured. But I didn't and doors were left alone but in retrospect.this would be a good precaution.These are very very good and worth the extra cost.THEY WORK.It is because these are exceptionally good that I spent time writing all this.Hope.you read.this and you bow enjoy peace of mind like we do.

the bottles opening part of the refrigerator wasn't closing properly and kept on making the noise, bought this item to stop it from doing that and it helped.. easy to install and the adhesive is strong. good product!!
