Antibacterial bristle protection - Does anybody know what chemical they are using to provide this bristle protection?

The antibacterial protection may not necessarily be a chemical. Each tiny brush comes in its own case to keep it clean. There is no chemical smell or taste to them. After use you rinse them off and place them back in its case.

How many come in the order? I'm understanding the description to say that an order consists of 6 packs with 8 brushes in each pack. Is that correct?

That is what I got, 6 packs with 8 brushes each. That said, beware! The type of brushes they sent me was completely different from what I ordered. I ordered normal grip & tight, they sent me flexy grip and wide. I'll never get stuff from that seller again.
