Terrific product easy to assemble and mount ...looks great on finished deck

I live in what, when it was built in the early 1970's, was a cutting edge architecture showpiece of a home. As a result, it has all kinds of stairs and intermediate levels and wise open spaces... and handrails would have apparently detracted from the effect so none were installed. Instead, there are little ledges of wood that I guess were supposed to be handrails but fail miserably at the job.... as I found out one miserable mornign when I kind of needed a handrail...Enter these handrails. I looked at several options but decided that these were the best match for me and the house. I ordered 2 lengths - 10 feet for the main stairs and 3 feet for the bathroom stairs, and was pleasantly surprised to find they both shipped together in one package despite ordering them a few minutes apart - obviously these are packed as needed. I ended up liking those two enough after I installed them that I also got a 5 ft one for the office stairs.As an experienced DIY'er I found them to be fairly straightforward to install, however I would not recommend them as DIY for people without a strong DIY background. A few of the reasons this is the case...1) The rails themselves are fairly thick aluminum tubes and if you need to cut them to length it helps to have the right tool for the job, particularly since the end caps go inside the tube and the cut edges are visible. I cut mine on a bandsaw with a metal cutting blade and it was no issue at all, but it could really lead to frustration if you spent a long time with a hacksaw and ended up with a visible rough surface.2) The splice connection on longer lengths is not novice DIY friendly - the instructions make it sound easy but I needed to use a clamp to compress the diameter of the internal portion to get it to fit in the tubes and then a long bar clamp to pull it together.. and the covering ring portion wasn't round so I had to squeeze the long dimension to get it round enough to fit.3) Setting the brackets and connecting them to the rail is a bit of an art - basically figure out where you want the brackets on both ends (preferably in a solid element instead of just drywall), attach them with one screw, set the rail, adjust it if needed and somehow clamp it to the bracket (I found padded hose clamps worked best), then get underneath the rail and drill a pilot hole into the round aluminum tube of the rail before screwing the bracket to the rail, then remove the clamps, drill the other hole, and repeat for any intermediate brackets.All in all it's not an overly difficult installation if you have the right tools and a bit of experience, but without those it could be highly frustrating.

If you have any mechanical abilities at all this is easy to install.Everything is pretty much as advertised.

Quality made in America product.Looks good,feels strong.Only two down sides,the price(should be about 10 or 15% less) and advertised as " life long powder coating" but I did not receive any kind of warranty.(SAND BRONZE,10FT)

interior stair well , all needed to install included with order. Beautiful finish ,bought white railings and my wife loves them !!! Thanks

Our back steps need needed a railing but we knew it would take more effort and tools to mount something sturdy and secure onto a concrete foundation wall. We installed the 5’ railing with the 2 supplied brackets but used Tapcon concrete screws, carbide drill bit and a hammer drill for a secure fit.The instructions were clear. Drilling into the rail to connect the bracket took some effort but the self tapping screws went in cleanly.Looks nice and works well.

Really steps up the appearance of my staircase! Only con being that the holes in the metal railing were not predrilled. My drill was unable to get the job done , requiring the help of a handyman to install. Additionally, the end caps did not go completely on / not a seamless appearance. Finally, the coating was easily scratched, and it occurred while installing , so I feel this is going to be a common trend with wear and tear over time. Overall, great appearance and very sturdy once installed correctly.

This makes it easier for my husband to get up the step. Very good quality
