A great way to ground the PS4 Pro jet engine under the TV!
Like many of you, my PS4 Pro decided it wasn't happy to be a mere console as it had ambitions to take to the skies, well at least that's how it sounded everytime I'd play a game. I spent a fair bit of time looking at tutorials and finally plucked up the courage to change the fan and also the thermal paste, so I ordered this kit based upon the positive reviews left for it.Order arrived nice and quick and the first thing that strikes you is how well this is put together. Presented in a nice sturdy box that neatly contains the new fan, thermal paste, torque bits, spatular and plastic hook to remove some of the more stubborn connectors on your PS4 Pro internals, it gives you confidence that you'll succeed, which goes a long way when you aren't used to doing such things.I followed the How-FixIT video guide :PS4 Pro how to disassemble, fan cleaning and replace thermal paste (if it's helpful to you, that's great, but I accept no responsibility for your own PS4 Pro or any other devices once you remove the security tags, etc.) and it was invaluable to me.I took my time, pausing and unpausing to make sure I followed each and every step properly. Tools worked flawlessly and once I cleaned the thermal paste off ( I used Arctic Silver ArctiClean CPU Paste Remover Cleaner to remove, clean and prepare the surface) I applied the new paste with the supplied spatular (which was a tiny bit awkward, but that was because I was being super careful, it worked out in the end) and then replaced the fan.Once reassembled I switched the console back on, crossed fingers and.... Viola! It is so quiet now, I honestly can't believe how much of a difference it makes. Between the video tutorial and using this kit to curb the ambitions of my wannabe 747, I feel that I'm going to have a great, whisper quiet experience playing The Last of US 2 and other PS4 Pro games that I could barely stand for any length of time due to the excessive noise.I hope you found this helpful!

Great bit of kit.
I have an older model of the Pro and thought the fan was going funny as like most people who have one knows they end up sounding like a jet taking off while doing simple tasks. Turns out it wasn’t the fan, but the incredibly poor application of thermal paste put on by Sony as you can see in the photos.Regardless I replaced the old fan with the new fan (which was the same make as the one I had in there and not the Delta fan). As it couldn’t hurt. But the reason was the thermal paste. I reapplied it to the APU and put it all back together following a disassembly video on YouTube for a guide. As a result it now sounds whisper quiet which I am very happy with. It’s definitely worth the effort of doing this if this a problem you have as well. One thing make sure you keep all your screws in separate piles so you know what parts they go back into (there are a tonne of them, and I mean ALOT of screws. Some torx ones mixed with Phillips and it can be confusing to remember which one go where). I highly advise documenting or arranging them or taking photos of the layout before you take them out so you can use them as a reference when putting it back together. The job itself took just under an hour.So if your PS4 PRO gets incredibly loud it’s most likely that the thermal paste has dried up or hasn’t been applied well at all causing the fan to ramp up to compensate for the amount of heat being generated that can’t be shifted through the heat sink effectively enough due to the poor application of thermal paste.Don’t buy a new PS4 PRO if this is the case for you, do this method as it will save you a lot of money and also makes for a pretty fun experience of opening it up and “fixing” it and putting it back together again. Quite a satisfying feeling. Despite how easy it actually is to disassemble once you get into it.

Easier to do than you think and results are worth it.
The media could not be loaded. Like many my Fan was sounding like an afterburner jet and I paid someone to change the paste before which did work but it started doing it again, I feel have my self to blame as I still put it in an unventilated area, I didn't want to pay someone again so I thought I would have a crack.I followed the ifixit video, it really isn't hard just have space and be systematic and there is no rush. I also bought the ArctiClean Thermal material remover as suggested by another review on here.I don't think my fan needed changing but I didn't want to do all that work to find out I should have changed the fan too.I've uploaded a video of before and after, in the after part I had to put the TV on mute so you could hear the fan. I loaded up a graphic intense game (Last of us 2) and had it at the same part. In the before the fan was going like that after a minute. In the after I had it running for about 10 minutes to see if the fan would start getting louder which it didn't (after a bit of gaming I'll update the review if the fan starts getting louder).I'm also not taking chances and now putting my PS4 out when I game, standing it up as I read that it is better if the PS4 is vertical, also got a fan stand to help keep it cool. Hopefully this time the paste will last.1 year later January 2023. The paste has held up and no after burner jet sounds have kicked in, defo recommend having space around your PS4pro for better ventilation.

Jet engine now a quiet whisper
This has totally resolved my playstation pro jet engine. I had already changed the thermal paste which had reduced the noise significantly but the fan was the last piece of the puzzle so to speak. It now runs quietly playing heavily intensive graphical games. Please note it comes with thermal paste and the correct screw drivers. Excellent stuff 5/5

Easy to replace, all tools included, but not much of a difference
I bought this and some cooling pads to refresh my PS4 pro and although it was good for a while after some time it got back to sounding like a jet engine. To me not really worth the money, would not recommend to a friend.
