Q: Which components; blades, screen, housing, switch, etc. on this model are plastic?

I received a clearly defective Vornado Silver Swan Alchemy Oscillating Vintage Fan, Gunmetal yesterday and due to its malfunctions I would suppose that several of its inner workings ( related to oscillation, and fan blade rotation) are some type of plastic or synthetic material because of the way they feel to my hand when adjusting the knobs. It was very noisy, when it's motor or oscillator would actually turn. The blades hardly turned at all, except sporadically. It was returned today. I own and love 4 Vornado Sr. fans both chrome and green with gold. This is not a criticism of the brand or likely even the fan model as I will be ordering a replacement for the defective fan.

I googled the fan. According to current history the fan in question is made in America / Andover Kansas. A Vornado model VH 110 Vortex electric space heater was made in China . The Vornado silver swan oscillating fan is made in America .

Q: How long are the blades

The blade diameter is 11.5 Inch's for this unit.

Q: Can the front cover be removed to dust off the blades?

I love this fan - it's beautiful! While I haven't yet done it, I do remember that there are simple instructions for removing the cover.
