Hatch Chili Powder.
I love Hatch chilis, so when I saw this on Amazon, I had to have it. Tried it once, and it immediately became one of my top "go to" chili powders in the spice cabinet (I have many). I would describe it as flavorful but mild. It does have some heat, but not a lot. It is MUCH more mild than, say, cayenne powder. In fact, I like to use the two together -- Hatch for flavor and richness, cayenne for some burn. This is a surprisingly versatile powder that works in everything from spice rubs to marinade, to just sprinkling on poultry, and of course, it'd be great in any kind of chili or tomato-based soup or dish. Mainly, I just toss a tablespoon of it into whatever spice rub I'm preparing, for extra flavor and to create something a little off the beaten path. You really can't go wrong with this powder, because the lack of burn/heat means it won't offend anyone, and the flavor is really good.I like that it comes in a nice big container that'll last a while, at a fair and reasonable price.

Outstanding Red hatch chile
Works well making chile sauces and as seasoning on meat, fish or vegetables. Mixes well into cooking juices, water or oil. It's a good item to use as an alternative to Hatch green chile products which are more common. If you've been to the southwest USA a common question at Mexican restaurants is red or green. This product is a good red.Not too spicy. If you want more heat there are plenty other hotter chiles around. What I've found in Mexican style cooking is that like expert chefs do, to use two or more chile products together that blend different flavor profiles. Combinations of chiles work for the heat level also. I like things somewhat hotter than this powder but can easily add a little ghost pepper sauce on my own serving after cooking so my guests aren't objecting to the heat.

It is not spicy
I was hoping for a spicy red sauce mix, but this was mild. It was still good and flavorful. I just have to season to taste. Great value. My enchiladas came out delicious. I would recommend this product.

This seems like a very nice powder
This seems like a very nice powder. I don't find it over hot, but I definitely notice it, which is about where I like it. Of course in your recipes you can use more or less of it and/or mix it with a milder or hotter power to find your ideal flavor and heat level. I last ordered it 4 years ago, and I've been out of it for at least a couple of years. which tells me I use it up quick when I get it. I made a lot of chili with it. I probably should have gotten a couple to save on shipping as Angelina's will discount shipping for multiple items in an order This time around I want to use it to make enchilada sauce, and couple of reviewers here say it works great for that. Plus I think it's about time to make chili again. Yum!Unless something has changed, I don't know how a person could go wrong with this powder. By the way, when I ordered it before they were calling it Anaheim chili power.

New Mexico flavor at a great price
After moving from San Diego to the Midwest I could no longer readily find New Mexico style chili powder, which I use for enchiladas, posole and tamales. I hesitantly ordered this brand. I was pleasantly surprised as it met and exceeded my expectations. I have been to New Mexico and bought chili powder while there. This is darker in color but the flavor is on point. I just ordered my 2nd jar. Thanks for a great product at an affordable price.

Very good chile powder
I have loved New Mexico's Hatch green chilis ever since I first tried them in Albuquerque years ago. So when I saw this Hatch red chile powder I decided to try it. It is convenient to have a container of this good quality chile powder in your kitchen. You might be surprised at how many foods it really adds to. I bought it for enchiladas but I use it on chicken, poultry, and even steak. It also perks up bland dishes. Some people might shy away from red chile powders. One guest asked me if it was like cayenne pepper. I assured her that it was not fiery at all.It was shipped promptly as well.
