ProMark Fire Grain Scott Johnson sticks
Just got these out the mailbox and after a few minutes of test tappity tappity I am compelled to review them.First I don't play corpdimental stuff. I do drumset and percussion - and mostly quietly. Think small room jazz and bebop. The 5 stars is for the neutral quality of these sticks. They make great practice instruments. The figures that come out will be a function of your stick control; little else.Second impression is they are flawed in known ways. They are wood and as such will be prone to wear and chipping on hard surfaces like cymbals and other non drum head objects. Needless to say I prefer nylon tips. (not available in this model)The one real minus must be an industry joke. All the manufacturers promise pitch matching and yet you'll find quarter tone and half step anomalies throughout the entire stock; even from those Perfect Pair guys. If this is a concern you'll have to buy in quantity (I got one pair to try) and sort through them yourself. Note that most pair are sufficiently matched for equal mass and balance and mixing for pitch will probably result in uneven pairs. That ventured, the sticks have a good dry tactile quality and plenty of neutral mass for stability. I'd get them in nylon if they made 'em but that's just my preference.

If these sticks are good enough for one of the best drum lines to ever hit the field and required for use by one of the best instructors in the world, they are good enough for me.I am old DCI drummer and still love to throw down notes. Having a great pair of sticks is just as important to effective application of technique as the drummer is himself. Sticks are the tools we use to make our instruments work. The DC-17 is a slightly less beefy stick then its brother the DC-50. It provides excellent response and is excellently weighted. The stick is a marching drum stick. It is not for use on a drum set. If you are looking for a well-balanced, well-weighted marching stick that offers the player great rebound, the ability to play with massive down stroke as well finesse, SCOJO's DC-17 stick is for you. For the young rudimentalist percussionist, this stick will require some good chops to use but the great thing about this stick is that by using it, you will develop your chops. Win-Win!! Order a few pairs. At $7.00, you need a couple of pairs of these sitting around the house to use when your buddies come over and you want to rehash your favorite licks from previous halftime shows, DCI shows, or WGI.Great job Promark and Scott Johnson.

Great drum stick
I am in my fourth year of marching band and I bought this stick my 8th grade year and loved it. Fits perfect in your hands, sounds wonderful, looks nice. I even had my band buy them for my snare line this year. Totally recommend

Drumsticks
I brought these drumsticks for a friend of mine. They really enjoyed the drumsticks and she still has them to this day.

The sticks tip chips off
Really good drum sticks but the only problem is that they have is that they chip from the tip and I’ve tried a lot of this sticks and it happens with all pairs.
