I received quick and no issue with packaging, but the safe didn't work properly. Contacted customer service and was given a story about the item was not put together properly at the factory blah, blah blah. The sent me instruction to take it apart which I did and put back together correctly but to no avail the safe still didn’t work finger print or keypad. Really liked the safe itself, well-made and the perfect size I needed it so I agreed that they send me another safe, but I asked to make sure someone looked at it to ensure it worked properly. I got great lip service, but when the safe arrived there was a screw missing on the assembly and the finger print function did not work but the keypad did. The safe was not new came with torn packaging and a booklet that was evident someone had returned and the missing screw. Again contacted customer service with my concerns and they set up a time to call me to go over the fingerprint function. .Got the story how great their quality control manager is and they must have had a miss on this. They called 2 1/2 hours late of the set time so I missed the call. Contacted them again twice, set up 2 other different calls for specific times and they never called to assist. To make a long story short I received 20% off the cost of the safe, took the screw from the 1st safe but the finger print function doesn’t work, which is not the reason why I bought the safe to begin with. I can tell you this took 4 weeks to rectify from the purchase of the safe. Worst customer service team I have ever dealt with on an Amazon purchase. In case you think I'm a tech person and that was the trouble I work as a software manger for a large firm and have a good grasp of electronics and PC's, better than the average person.

The safe works well. Seems like a quality product. Luckily my safe’s durability has not been put to the test. I have only ever used it with the keypad so I cannot speak to the biometric function. I would assume that it works as advertised since I have had zero problems in the 3 years that I’ve owned it. 3 years also happens to be about how long the battery lasted me as well. Of course I did not pay attention to battery life and they died on me. I could not find the keys that came with it so I contacted the seller. After answering a few questions to prove ownership they were able to send out replacement keys. Thanks for bailing me out! Three years on, the safe still works perfectly and customer service saved me from myself. I would use this company again if I ever need a different safe.

This is a great design but suffers from horrible quality control. Ordered 2 before I gave up. The first unit's door was out of true and would not close properly. The second unit's lock malfunctioned right out of the box and the batteries shipped with the unit were crushed. I returned both units and will not buy again from this manufacturer.It should be known that the retailer the Biometric Store was great to work with. They were very understanding and responsive. Too bad the manufacturer doesn't share their commitment to customer service and quality.

The people that sold this safe on Amazon are the Biometric store.The safe arrived in a box that had all the styrofoam smashed up. The batteries that were outside of the safe, but in the box were crushed and unusable. I put in my own batteries and the safe appeared to work per the instructions. The next morning the finger print reader would not work. To make things worse, any key combination opened the safe. The keypad itself had some keys for which the numbers looked worn and faded as though they had been used a lot and subsequently polished / refurbished.I wrote to the Biometric store and the responded with an explanation that this was the first generation of safe that had "an assembly problem". They included detailed instructions and pictures to disassemble and repair the safe for which I didn't have the tools or the skills.When I said I wold return it the first return label they sent me was simply an address label with instructions to pay for the shipping. They subsequently sent a prepaid UPS label.Whether this was a defective safe being pawned off as a good safe, or a piece of junk by design, I can't tell. I wouldn't buy it unless you are willing to risk coming home and finding the door open and the safe empty with a note from the burglar thanking you for installing a safe that opens when any combination is entered.

The good: Well made, nice finish, biometric. Quite large, even for a hefty laptop; lots of extra room.The bad: A bit confusing to program, but not a big deal. It takes just a little patience.The ugly: The safe won't lock itself properly when I press a button. The bars move in and then back out. I can only lock it using the key. I assume it's a defective locking mechanism, so I plan to return it.

This Viking laptop safe has just what I was looking for....full welded seams and quality fitted door with no gaps. This is worth buying if you really need your items to be secure. I'm slightly modifying this safe to house my security cameras hard drive and then bolting the unit to the floor....Burglars can cut wires but the image of them doing it will be locked in my Viking safe!

I have to say I was skeptical about this safe oy because of my bad experiences with other safes but this one is REALLY GOOD. FINGER PRINT entry is EXCELLENT !!! REALLY like this safe and is carpeted throughout. I would recommend this product to anyone.

I had trouble finding a safe that could fit cash trays in it. This is a perfect fit for those needing a cash tray safe.
