These shoes are great for a toddler, in and out of the pool all the time. It gives a bit more grip to their otherwise slippery bare feet and also helps protect their feet from any stones or rocks that they could otherwise encounter.Doesn't seem to interfere with swimming at all.The only slight downsize is that the toe area seems to separate from the sole quite easily and wear through. I've gone through two pairs in one season, not because he outgrew them but because they got a hole in the material by the toes. You can tell that otherwise these are great because I bought a replacement pair exactly the same rather than trying another make.

I purchased for my 5 year old daughter. We have not had the opportunity to try it out on the beach. However, it looks good and should do the job. There was a long wait for delivery however, this was stated at the time of ordering.
