Modern Fountain Pen Fun
I'm really loving my fountain pens. I love a good liquid ink that flows so effortlessly. Fountain pens from years ago always leaked, but these don't. They are made in the typical Pilot fashion: with quality, thoughtfulness of design, and for writing pleasure. The only thing I'd note is that you need to keep it capped often; if I'm writing, and take a break of a minute or two, it acts like it's dry and will take a moment for the ink to flow again. Nothing that hinders me in any way, just something I noted. Reasonable price, too.

AMAZING but they do bleed through thin paper!
These pens are my absolute favorite of all time. They are the perfect fountain pen, and I have not had many problems with splotchiness. Whenever they are new, they sometimes leak onto your hand when you write, but that is expected with a fountain pen. It is never enough to get on your clothes or anything like that. It is important to know that they will bleed through regular paper, but I typically only use them for writing cards, or on thick paper like card stock for scrapbooking. I have used them in a notebook, but I just opted out of using the back page since it bled through to the back. They write so smooth and I absolutely love them!

Nice fountain pen feeling
Always wanted to have a good mess free fountain pen, and this product is just that. Gives a great writing experience same as you are writing with an actual fountain pen but without all the hassle, the tip never dries out no matter after how long I use it, the ink flow is perfect and very smooth to write and looks amazing on paper.

Vibrantly colored fountain pens
I've been exploring inexpensive fountain pens and decided to try this multi-colored Pilot Varsity set. I was surprised by how bright and vibrant the inks are! The pens write fairly heavily, which is good for a beginner fountain pen user. I have other pens that are scratchy if not used correctly, so this set is a welcome relief. It's almost like using a gel pen, the ink flows so well. On the other hand, you want to use thick paper to avoid bleed through or ghosting. The seven colors include black, blue (navy), red, green (a bit minty), pink (almost neon), purple, and turquoise (light blue). The pens are not particularly attractive - black barrels with silver triangles. The caps and bottoms of each barrel are tipped with plastic matching the ink color, so you can easily pick which pen to use. Unfortunately, the caps are somewhat unattractive (aside from the colored tip), and they do not fit securely onto the end of the barrel, making it a bit awkward to write at times. The pens have a clear 'window' down one side of the barrel, allowing you to see how much ink is left. The Pilot Varsity are disposable, although I have seen some videos showing how you can refill them (seems like more trouble than it's worth, though). This set seems perfect for beginning fountain pen users because the pens write so easily and smoothly; I could even see taking notes with these pens. I also think that they'd be great for teens and older children who are interested in trying fountain pens.

Best pack of pens you can buy
I bought this set after buying a single pen to try them out and they have replaced my Pilot G2 as my favorite pen. They write very smoothly, and the ink seems to last quite a long time, though it will depend on how fast you write as with a fountain pen a slower speed will use much more ink. The turquoise, pink, green, and red will dry/absorb faster than the black, blue, and purple, so they might be better for your informal writings. They are also very leak resistant, I won't say leak proof even though when stored vertically I've never had one leak, which is often a con for fountain pens. The only cons I can think of is that they are a tad shorter than a regular ball point pen, and they have a medium tip (Pilot says they make these in Fine point as well but I can't find them). Will these be as "good" as an expensive brand name fountain pen? That's like asking if the cheap black barrel multipack mechanical pencils will be as "good" as a high quality drafting mechanical pencil. Both will do the job, but where the expensive high quality options are for specialized tasks and for professional applications where a crisp top of the line finish is needed, these pens are for people who like the feel of a fountain pen, but will be using them for informal tasks such as jotting down notes, writing checks (which fountain pens are exceptional at, especially India Black which Pilot also makes and is listed on Amazon, because the ink embeds itself deep into the fibers and resists washing by thieves), doing homework, or other such tasks. Oh, and don't forget, since they are so inexpensive (the black ink versions are sold by the dozen here on Amazon for the same price you would pay for a ball point) if they do get lost, stolen (by a coworker), or broken, you're not out a lot of money.Pilot also makes a cartridge based refillable fountain pen as well which is a higher quality metal barrel and even a replaceable nib, but I would start off with one of these and work your way up.

Great to practice lettering
These are great to practice lettering with a calligraphy style tip. Easy to use and have not leaked like other fountain style pens. They do not feel like a true fountain pen but can help practice styles and can be kept in a pencil bag for easy travel. The colors are great and do not bleed through my bulletjournal or other paper.

So Good!
Pilot has always been my favorite brand for writing pens, but these are very good. The flow of ink is steady, so no retracing letters! The variety of colors makes them very versatile. They sit comfortably in the hand-- well sized. I've had them for several months and none have dried up! Just a really great pen!

Great for Notetaking
I’m a teacher working on a doctorate. I’m using these pens to take notes to study for my comp exam and for dissertation notes. The are perfect for color coding. They’ve been really great for general note-taking. I feel like my handwriting has actually improved in using them. The quality is good. They write fairly smooth. I would definitely buy them again
