I have looked everywhere for a silent dog whistle! The rest all whistle like a referees whistle! This one does the job great. It still makes a faint whistle but nothing much.So I use it simply to get my pup’s attention if she has wondered a bit further than I’d like! She really pays attention to this

Didn’t work for our pooch.

This is a good whistle and I am impressed with it. It arrived quickly, is reasonably priced, seems sturdy and of good quality. I got it because I have a dog who has a behavioural problem regarding barking. She is lovely natured, but when she is outside on walks she gets in a state barking when seeing people, dogs and cats., and also at our garden gate, so I've been trying everything to help her to stop. I also have a Labrador type dog who responds quickly to this whistle - he runs back to me enthusiastically, was surprised initially by the sound. The whistle unfortunately does not stop my other dog's worked-up barking behaviour, but if I use it standing right next to her and looking at her, she does take notice. I do think this an effective whistle for some dogs, and it only does not have a remedial effect on my other dog's barking because she does have a quite entrenched behavioural problem due to a lack of socialization outside in her last home and the vet has recommended a professional behaviourist for her. So I would recommend this whistle generally because I see what a strong effect it has on one of my dogs. To human ears you can hear a slight hissy sound only and no-one around would hear you using it. It has a good length tape to wear the whistle round your neck .

Annoyingly I bought two of these. My dog is whistle-trained - instant recall to a range of pitches. We have not trained pitch-specificity. However, this whistle does not seem to carry across open fields/woods as he does not return for it when he's far away. I tried every setting, but it didn't make a difference. In the end I have to take off my gloves and use my fingers to whistle and he instantly came barrelling back. In the house, he does seem to hear it but he doesn't seem to feel the same urgency as in response to audible whistles. I gave 3 stars as the product quality seems good enough and it's possible that my two whistles are faulty. Indeed, the reviews do suggest that it's a bit 50/50 with this product. Many other reviewers don't seem to have whistle-trained dogs so I discounted their comments, however my dog is extremely well-trained but either couldn't hear or didn't understand this particular whistle.

The product arrived on time and in a nice pack. The whistle has a removable sleeve which, once removed, enables you to access the “screw” end and the pitch can be adjusted. I took out the instruction booklet and found the English page. This is where I began to get confused because the instructions were telling me how to attach the “harness” to my CAT! 🙄So I have a whistle, which looks nice and has a nice lanyard but in my opinion, is not loud enough. My French bulldogs responded to the whistle at several pitches but once they were playing and distracted did not seem to be able to hear the whistle. I am not convinced that outside, in the wind, across a field or the beach, that my dogs would hear this. Especially if they have an interesting looking dog or person in their sights! I may be doing something wrong but as I have no instructions, who knows!?It’s also worth noting that once the pitch is adjusted and the sleeve put on to cover the movable part that, after some movement/walking around, it still seems to move itself up/down so the pitch is different when you use it 10 minutes later!Again, perhaps it’s just me but as I don’t have instructions, I don’t know!There is also no obvious way to contact the seller unless requesting a return so I guess I will have to do this to obtain some instructions but to be honest I’ll probably just return it and purchase an acme whistle 👍

Had to contact seller to see how to adjust the pitch. Instructions sent straight back so thank you. Dog returns to whistle so really great.

I don’t like anything about it it’s a waste of money . I have turned to change pitch as directions and it’s rubbish .

Ottimo rapporto qualita' prezzo.Funziona ottimamente.Il fischietto ad ultrasuoni produce un suono leggermente udibile dall'orecchio umano,ma non disturba e puo' essere utilizzato come richiamo anche nelle ore notturne.Viene udito dal cane anche a lunga distanza.L'ho utilizzato con sei cani e devo dire che tutti si sono dimostrati sensibili.Il tipo di reazione dipende dal carattere del cane.Per quanto concerne la definizione "Anti abbario" occorre precisare che non esiste un fischietto anti abbaio.Alcuni cani,sentendo il fischio,si distraggono e smettono di abbaiare,ma in altri casi puo' non funzionare.La frequenza puo' essere regolata,ma il risultato non cambia.Si consiglia di scegliere un suono acuto,leggermente udibile,bloccare bene il meccanismo e di non modificarlo.
