I usually wear actual compression socks, but I couldn't find any that had the desired retro triple stripe like these. I was going to wear compression sleeves under these just to get the look I was going for, but it turned out they have some mild compression in their elasticity, so I can wear them just as is.They are comfortable, long enough to go up to my knees (some knee high socks barely make it up to my knees and cause an unsightly bulge where they stop an inch too low), and they look great. I wear them all the time.Although they are only just mild for the compression effect, they make up for that by being SO much easier to get on and off than actual compression socks (which are a major struggle especially when taking off). These are not sold as compression socks, but I find they do have some. Other reviewers describe them as "too tight" but I don't think they really are tight as in too small, they just have a good amount of elastic (probably for purposes of not letting them slide down).I am 140 pounds and 5'9" so I would be considered tall. My calves are medium to large - which causes the socks to expand and stretch a bit to accommodate - hence the compression effect. I think if you have very slim calves there would be no compression, or if you have very large calves they would have a lot of compression affect or feel too tight. Socks are very hard to get right for all the variable calve sizes - there can't be a one size fits all.

These are knee high socks I've been looking for. I wear western style work boots and the tops rub against my legs and irritate my skin, so I have been looking for boot socks that are tall enough to protect my legs. A lot of boot socks are either too short or don't stay up, so I decided to try knee highs. It took some trial and error but I finally found what I was looking for! These are plenty tall enough and they stay up! They fit a little snug, but not too tight, like light compression, but they will not work for someone with large calves. The soles have a terry cloth cushion, which is exactly what I need for all day wear with my work boots. I bought the adult small since I have small feet, size 8.5, and they fit perfectly. I'm 5'8" and the socks come right to the bottom of my knees. The colors are also fun.Update: I bought three more pairs, I loved them so much!

I bought them for my older teenage son. He is 6'4" and weights 165# with a 13-14 shoe. They fit well. We're much thicker on the bottom than I thought. Loved the product but I have think calves so they did not work for me

The socks arrived on time, they fit my 11 year old daughter great. Did not slide down while we went trick or treating and she got on bouncy houses and slides without a problem. Good quality and fit over the knee as expected. She said she liked the socks.

I am short and the socks are quite long so I had to fold them at the toe; however, they are thick and cute.

They were true to fit.. Perfect retro 70s tube knee highs.. ADORABLE....they are way way above the knee. I would say mid thigh and im 5'8"..
