Stylish and comfortable retro stool; great customer service
These stools are cheaper when you order a set of two but I ordered a single stool in case I didn't like it, it would be easier to return. Shipping was very quick and the package arrived undamaged. I read the assembly instructions carefully. I cataloged my parts as instructed to ensure that I had everything. Assembly was tedious but not at all difficult. Swivel: However when I got up to the step for attaching the swivel, I realized it was rigid and would not rotate at all by hand. Obviously that meant if I attached it, my stool was not going to swivel. So I suggest to everyone to test your swivel part prior to beginning assembly which I did not think to do. You should be able to rotate the swivel by hand. It's ok if it's a little stiff to move by hand but it shouldn't be completely rigid and unmovable. Customer Service: Since I already had the stool mostly assembled, I was not going to take it apart to return it. The instructions had contact information for the company so I emailed them (you can phone them but it was outside of their calling hours). I immediately received an automated email response and the next day received a personal response. They required some additional information about my order which I promptly sent. I next received tracking for my replacement swivel which arrived within a few days. Their emails were personal, polite, and prompt. They actually sent me two sets of swivels. One was a little easier to rotate than the other so that's the one I attached. The stool is beautiful, no imperfections, and swivels easily. The seat is rich looking, cushiony, and very comfortable. This 30 inch stool is tall but required for the height of my pub table. If you only have counter height table then 24 inch stool should suffice. Alignment: I read review complaints about holes not lining up for assembly. However, when assembling the stool legs and rings, you have to loosely set the screws so there's wiggle room to adjust and align. After they're all set, go around gradually tightening and retightening each a little at a time until done. I think I too would've had a problem with alignment if I hadn't done this. Don't put just one screw in and tighten all the way. That will make it difficult to align the other holes.. Contrary to the instructions, the very first thing I did was attach the feet and levelers. It made more sense to me to do that first prior to beginning leg assembly. As far as reviews stating the stool doesn't swivel, I think I have already addressed a possible cause of that. Note, when attaching the swivel, don't forget to attach the spacers provided. I almost forgot to attach them since some time had elapsed between when I first began assembly and awaiting my replacement part. Pre-assembled option: I had also considered paying the higher price to receive the stool pre-assembled, but then you're depending on someone else that might not put as much care into your assembly. I did read reviews of assembled stools being delivered haphazardly completed, screws falling out, etc. Pay the lower price and assemble yourself. It's worth your time.

Sturdy, looks great.
Quality is exactly what I had hoped for, great, sturdy. As for assembly on the the two stools, I found a video on the Home Depot site for the same stools. Was easier to follow than the booklet. It also helped that I used a mini electric drill, instead of some of the provided tools. About 45 min. For two stools. I also saved a few $$ buying from Amazon. Also I really like the swivel feature as it isn't too loose, and like others. But when you do, it's smooth. Overall , turned out great. 👍

Good, Sturdy, HardToPutTogether
Requires complete assembly. And I mean complete assembly.. You definately wouldn't think that just by looking at the picture. Excellent for price, Sturdy, but the soft top seats scream mininmal to average use. (doesn't mean they can't be reupholstered relatively easily) Requires lots of hand strength to put together. I have more hand strength than 98% of the people out there. (it's been tested) I also am a construction guy with all the tools and tricks. But it still took me an hour to put the first one together. This doesn't mean you can't do it. It just means even I had a few issues. Once built, you're gonna be very happy. Though you may have nightmares of putting them together. I bought 2 more. At roughly sixtyfive bucks each, you are simply not going to do better. Hope that helps.

Great Stool!! Carefully assemble, and it’s just Great!
With trepidation I ordered this after reading hundreds of reviews. When I got it, I took my time and put it together utilizing some hints from other thoughtful customers. Hints like contrary to instructions (they’re awful!), install the upper and lower leg stabilizing rings at the same time. Don’t tighten until the fit is right. A little wiggle here & there will make it fit perfectly - then tighten down well. I also used Lock-Tite as recommended by some. When applied to the bolts, they won’t back off with age. I have been using the stool for months now and find it solid with no fears of stability. The seat is very comfortable for my Big Can & no complaints from me as some have groused in the comments. It’s a great stool! I’ve sat on it for hours and I have no complaints whatsoever! It’s passed my inspection, assembly, months of use. Now what remains is how will it do a few years from now? I’ll check back then and let you know if I can!

Perfect seating
Although I was needing a chair/stool that was a bit higher so I may sit and wash dishes and cook as my leg are not in great shape due to severe arthritis, this stool is great but a bit too high for me, I should have taken better measurements before purchasing.. It is, however, sturdy, swivels smoothly and is very nice looking, I will find someone who can use it!!

Stools are bad
Do not buy these stools. This was the worse purchase I ever made on Amazon. I never write reviews but feel compelled to write this one to warn others. The screws and bushings continuously fall out of the chairs. My husband is exceptionally handy (an engineer, in fact) and cannot get the screws and bushing to stay in, regardless of their configuration or tightness. I am very sorry I bought these stools. They were replacing old stools whose seats were worn down. I should have just bought new seats.

Very nice stools!
Love these!!! A little bit of work to assemble, but the pre-assembled would have been a month wait. Overall I’m really happy.
