Das Boot Knife
Great boot, bag or belt dagger. Came with a very well made durable leather sheath with metal belt clip and button clasp. Purchased it on sale so even better. Have a few other Smith & Wesson knives and they are all good quality for the price and arrive very sharp and hold an edge well under normal use. Comfortable hand grip and light weight. _

One of the best knives at this price point
I have read many reviews on knives the week prior to purchasing this one and I was looking for a straight blade, preferably double edged, and of good construction. While reading reviews about this product I feel that some points are in order to pay attention to (I believe this applies to all weapons) >>>>>Know your weapon's unique attributes that may affect stowage, usage, and execution/initialization/draw. Know how the weapon should be stowed, used, initialized, and maintained. That aside, lets continue... Stowage: You need to know proper stowage for recommended and your physical variables. While where you can clip this, mount this, and/or conceal this varies on your local laws, please check them first. The clip is nice and strong of good quality/size to mount to a molle system, pants that have the hardened / reinforced edge for say flashlight on your thigh or lower calf it fits, and also for some pants horizontally in the back belt loops. The knife also fits well on some shoulder holsters and various other storage solutions. The sheath has 2 splits at the top and the blade will sometimes want to got on the side where the clip is instead of its intended spot because the top of the sheath splits open for the clip and the other side is molded to the blade...again be familiar with your weapon. Holstering your knife you can prevent it from going into the wrong part of the sheath by keeping your index finger on the flat side of the blade as this is done, for a while I used one of those inserts shoved into the clip side from a shoulder holster as a guide to familiarize myself with stowing the knife while it is not in view...again familiarity with your weapon. Usage: This is a double edged blade and remember that. Forgetting that this knife is double edged while you cut things at your campsite and decide to use your hand to push down on it, is not a manufacturer/seller issue. Also it was not designed as something to pry things open and other things it was not designed for. It cuts things well, and stays sharp well. I use a rod sharpener that came with my other knives and works very well. Failure to wield/use the knife properly is not a manufacturer or seller issue. Execution/Draw/Initialization: Again this is a double edged knife, understand this is handled very differently than single edged knives. This knife pulls out of its scabbard easily with the thumb restraint in a very intuitive place for both vertical and horizontal draw in and out of field of view. Again familiarize yourself with how this knife is drawn and sheathed so you don't cut your yourself or clothing. Overall extremely happy with quality, weight, size, durability, and ergonomics of this product.

Great dagger
The knife arrived in good condition. The grind on the blade is spot on and the handle fits very nicely in my small hands. The handle material is comfortable and has a good grip. The sheath is high quality but I had a little bit of a problem removing it and returning it to the sheath. The blade was sharp enough to pop a few hairs but the tight fit in the sheath has dulled it a bit. I think once the sheath is broken in, I will sharpen the blade until it shaves hair easily. Once that's done, it will be be a great knife to carry concealed in your boot or behind your back.

Nice blade - Great potential
Sharp. Well made (as expected). Consistent coating. The cross guard is relative to the hilt/grip/handle. Small handle - for a small(er) hand. The hilt and cross guard are made of a single, rubber type material. The hilt has groves along the length of the grip. This, combined with the material, prevents slippage. There is no visible seam on the handle - rubber grip. This would lead me to believe that the grip was molded over/around the blade. This make the knife feel solid - like one solid, single, long piece of metal, with a grip molded around it. [I don't know anything about the design or manufacturing process of these items. I only know what I like, based on design, function, durability and actual usefulness.] The sheath is of basic design with a very strong clip, attached securely. All things being equal, if I'm going to outfit with a sheath/scabbard of this design, I would feel more comfortable with the clip closer to the top of the sheath. There is no belt loop - with the hard/tight clip, one is not necessary. The clip acts like a "belt loop". But, as stated above, if one were to wear this scabbard on one's belt, it would feel high on the belt/waist. Moving the clip would change the sense of center-of-gravity - balance. It would also outfit more securely on either shoulder, with a closer clip. I'm not being sexist and I'll prove it with alternative comparisons: I have an average hand - not very large and not petite. My hand - wide open - is 9.5 inches (nine point five) from the tip of my thumb, across my hand, to the tip of my pinky. As far as holding this knife, in my enclosed hand, it feels right, by length. However, it does not feel secure enough to use when it matters. It feels small - it feels like I'm gripping something slightly larger than my fountain pen. Let's be clear: this blade is designed for a simple task, beyond its ability to cut with both sides and look pretty on anyone's desk - opening letters and Amazon boxes. You can use it to open your mail - it's a great design, great materials, great name- S&W, great price. Throw away the sheath. Instead, grab a 12 inch by 3 inch cross section of your favorite tree from an ancient forest in the Amazon. Put it on your desk and any time you need to open your mail, pull it out of your wood. It could also make a great conversation piece. It is a very pretty, all flat black, except for the edges which shines silver through the coating. Alternatively, standing, vertically, with its symmetry, stuck in a piece of wood, on any desk, would send a strong, unspoken message. For someone, like myself, with hands like mine, I would not expect my hand, to wrap around so completely. If I were 15 years old, with a smaller hand, this item may feel more secure. If I were a young girl or a smaller woman, than myself, with smaller hands, this item might feel better in my hand. I would keep it in the house - next to my bat. Under extreme circumstances, where a sharp tool, such as this one may be needed for its designed purpose, this would not be my first choice. Not as-is. Thinking outside the box and beyond its basic appearance, It could also be said that this handle is intentionally designed in this manner because the hilt can be "built up" to personal needs based on individual grip(s). The balance is such that rotation is nearly impossible when throwing... for fun. However, throwing, without rotation, will eventually destroy a dart board. Have fun. Be safe. And don't cut yourself - this is a very sharp item.

I'm honestly surprised that this knife doesn't cost more. Overall aesthetics are great. The sheath is fine -- I know some other reviewers had problems with quality but this one is good. The knife is a snug fit at the top but it loosens up quickly. There is a metal thumb piece to open the rivet and the belt clip is secure. The handle of the knife is a tiny bit small for my hands but not a real issue. The rubber handle gives a nice grip. The blade is a nice leaf shape with a fuller on both sides. It is sharp, but not razor sharp out of the box. There is a slightly uneven grind at the point but you have to get very close to notice it. The blade coating is uniform. Great little boot knife.

Great little blade. Nit little... in fact great size in my large hands with more than enough blade real estate for what ever task. Light, but solid. Overall easy to carry many ways (and many ways it can not be seen) i got 2.
