Operation Winback (PS2)

Come on people,ease up.This game is alot better than people make out.I had it first on the n64 and really enjoyed it.Ok games have come along way,but operation winback is still something you can pick up and play if you want to vent some anger.Ok some parts are tedious and a bit samey but it is still action packed.But as the saying goes,"Don't knock it till you've tried it"

Although this is a great gam based on the N64 hit, there are some fundamental problems.This been a so called stealth game, HA. its more a leaf of the branch of tompraider than it is metal gear solid. If your looking for a no-brainer action adventure then this is it. However dont be fooled into thinking this will keep you contempt until MGS2 arrives. If you want my advice buy it, to keep you happy for a couple of months, it does have features aplenty.

First of all I recognise that everyone has a right to their own opion, but the person who gave his review for Operation Winback, and completely thrashed it, that s just being harsh. This is a good game with over 30 fun filled levels (but I guess when you buy this game without actually having a feel for this sort of game(shoot em ups), then ofcourse you wouldnt like it) i have virtually everyone of this sort of game for the ps2, psone, etc. And think that this game is up there with the big boys (Resident Evil, Goldeneye, Metal Gear Solid.) Great playability, good graphics, diversity,and loads of action. Sure you dont have a wide weapon range but look at the playability not just the features and you might well be surprised with how much you will enjoy this game.

I bought this game aout 6 months ago. It was only very inexpensive so I figured, how bad could it possibly be. Surely I'd get my money's worth. I could not have been more wrong.CONS:For a start, the graphics are awful. As soon as you begin the game, you start to wonder whether you're even playing on a Playstation 2 or whether someone has humorously replaced it with a 1980's BBC. They are very dull and very grainy. This takes a lot away from the atmosphere of the game as it makes it very difficult to get involved in the atmosphere.The movement of the characters are not at all fluid, one again taking away any realism the game ever had to begin with.The levels are often just corridors with...well, walls...Oh, yeah, and a floor.The multiplayer just plain sucks. For 90% of the time the two of you will just be trying to figure out who the hell to shoot, and why the hell you bought this.It's about as exciting as sitting in the middle of a large field, in your own sick, talking about 19th century British politics with Noel Edmonds.PROS:1) Some shops do refunds.2) The disc is all shiny.3) The anti-terrorist team you're in are called SCAT (hehe)In conclusion, unless your a sado-masochist with too much money and way too much time, then avoid like leprocy.

Rob hatherly back in action......wow this game.....when ever i play a game i compare it to this amazing game. Pew pew pew is the noise i make as my mum wipes away the over enthuisatic dribble from my chin. The whole mechanics on this game is out of this world. This has to be one of the worst games I have ever had the misfortune to play.Ok there are some nice features, as being able to swing out behind stuff... and err... erm... well that seems about it.Where have all the weapons gone!?!? With a game like this I would at least expect a huge array of weapons. Only a selection of 5 weapons is abysmal.Not many in game options as well.Do NOT buy this game, as I read in one slating of this particular title, it should be Operation GetYourMoneyBack instead of Operation Winback.Go and buy TimeSplitters instead, all the features of Operation WinBack but much much much better.

This is described as the game to buy if you are waiting for MGS2. WRONG! Don't buy this game!The graphics are so dull! Grey, grey and a bit of green. The animation when he runs makes him look like he needs the toilet. Its dreadful. The enemies are very poorly detailed as well with blocky arms and legs.The A.I is worst ive seen. I went running round a corner and hid behind a crate as I didn't know if there was any bad guys but they came round the corner and didn't know I was there but still were shooting at the crate despite the fact they didn't know where I was! Its supposed to be an advanced game on an advanced console.Multiplayer is rubbish as well. The camera is too detached from the player and seems too far away. The arenas are dreadful too! Going from tiny to absolutely huge! With 4 people its annoying as with the aiming you are shooting around the person and never hitting him.The only good point is ive not hit any slowdown at all!In all, steer clear. If you want a stealth game, get MGS or MGS2. If you have them, be happy in the knowledge that they are the best of the stealth games on PS.
