OTC 6192 TORX PLUS Bit Socket - TP55 with 3/8" Square Drive

Fleet vehicle (2020 Ford Escape) required an odd size T tool. With a little research, I found that this one should work and in fact it did. Hate to have to buy it for a one time use (but I blame Ford for that - using an odd sized bolt for front seats. This piece worked fine and I"m glad I found an individual part and didn't have to buy a whole set. Only used it once and can't image needing it again but at least I'll have it. Quick shipping too! Much appreciated considering I couldn't find one anywhere local.

Fit perfectly on the seat bolts of my 2009 E350, and is very strong. I ended up breaking a number of heads of these bolts off because they were too rusted. This tool didn't break or deform, even 250+ foot pounds of torque (24" breaker bar, legs for leverage) and use of an impact wrench.It seated fully in the bolts, and didn't break under force - what more can you ask?

This is the correct socket to remove the front seats in a 2003 Ford E-350 Club Wagon van. I originally thought I needed a regular Torx T-55 socket; however, some research indicated that Ford used a Torx Plus TP-55 head for these bolts, so I purchased this socket. The socket is well made; the bit fits the bolt head well and I expect it to last a long time.

I bought it after reading many reviews online that this is probably what I needed to remove some seats from a Ford truck. However, it does NOT fit the 2016 Ford Transit 12 passenger van. This bit is too big. I haven't figured out what does fit it yet, but will update this review when I do.

All you people saying this doesn’t work for your t55 are ridiculous. Ofcourse it won’t work it’s not the same thing! It’s a torx plus socket not a regular torx. Sheesh people leaving bad reviews not even knowing what they’re buying. It’s like complaining a Phillips head won’t work in a flat head screw. Yeah no kidding! Don’t listen to these bozos if you need a Torx plus this is what you’re looking for, works great for timing chain phasers on ford 3.5!

2019 UPDATE BELOWExactly the tool I needed to remove the seat brackets on my 2003 Ford E350 van.Felt quality when I used it, only really used it once. It does the job.

For my 2003 Ford SuperDuty truck (i.e. Excursion,F250,F350, etc) this was the bit I needed for the bolts that attach the seat to the floor.
