Best choice for gypsy jazz guitar IMO
This pick is advertised for mandolins but I think they are great for gypsy jazz guitar too (and basically any other guitar style too). I did a bit of a search for suitable picks and this Dunlop Americana is shown compared to several other picks, including the Dunlop Flow (3mm thickness) and Dunlop Prime Grip (2mm thick). For reference a standard Fender pick is shown, as well as a couple of larger triangular picks. It also shows a couple of larger triangular picks. The paper grid divisions are 0.2 inches. Despide being describes as "Jumbo", the 3mm Dunlop Flow pick is exactly the same outline as a standard Fender pick.I personally don't like the feel of those larger picks but this is a personal preference, and if you like larger picks I suggest trying the D'Andrea Plec (1.5mm thickness). The Dunlop Americana are 1.6mm thick (I measured it). Plenty thick enough that there's no flexing at all. The curvature seems to be exactly the same as the Fender standard pick along the top edge, and the pick is fully symmetric - about 0.1 inches wider, and 0.1 inches shorter than the Fender standard. The stiffness allows excellent articulation when soloing as well as very meaty strumming, and the rounded corners support tremolando strumming. The pick is made of polycarbonate, and I don't know if that's why, but I think it produces a better tone than the Dunlop Flow and Prime Grip picks. I think they are a bit pricey at $2.67 per pick, but they should last forever if you don't lose them.

Great Picks
Wasn’t able to get these in any store and I’m not disappointed. These picks work great with my mandolin. I highly recommend for anyone looking for a great quality rounded pick.

I drilled holes in it
It's a little slippery but same as most picks so I drilled soles in which really helps good pick!

Excellent! Solved my problem!
For decades I have used thin picks with a rough traction-grip surface. I thought these would be the easiest and fastest. I have never been satisfied with my picking. I drop 'em. They spin in my grasp. It's just very frustrating! I complained out loud during a jam session with my guitar buddies and Steve handed me a very thick "Dawg" pick; "Here...Try this." Bingo! No more problems and a better sound too! The Dawg was a bit large, so I tried these Jim Dunlop picks after reading a review in a guitar trade magazine. It compared the Dawg and these Dunlop picks. I bought the Dunlops and Bang! Another revelation! These are GREAT. They're easy to handle and control. The thickness gives you a nice powerful, but soft dense sound which I like; Very sweet indeed. I do a lot of cross picking and very little straight strumming so take that into consideration when thinking through this review. These are my go-to picks... Forever!

Best Picks I've Seen So Far!
Amazing picks! I really like mandolin style picks for playing guitar as, in my opinion, they produce a warmer and brighter tone and you also get the benefit of more control. These picks did the job beautifully. I have been searching for a long time to find the perfect pick, and I found it! I took them to my music teacher who thought they were better than his picks. He asked me for one and I ordered some more picks for him. I have always liked Jim Dunlop as a brand, but this pick exceeded my expectations. (And trust me, the bar is put pretty high for Jim Dunlop to start with) I would recommend this to any guitar player who stays in the realm of picking/lead guitar. (I wouldn't recommend these for anyone who strictly strums because they are so heavy. I buy Jim Dunlop 44P38 .38mm Nylon Standard Guitar Picks for strumming since they are so light and are perfect for strumming or the rhythm guitarist.) So, at the end of the day, if you are a lead guitarist who plays a lot of solos, scales, arpeggios, and the like, buy these picks!! You won't be disappointed!

it is like a SR 60 thickness
This pick is the essentially the same size, and almost the same shape, as the Golden Gate rounded picks. It is thicker, however. It is about 1.25 mm in thickness The Fender XH picks are only about 0.94 mm thick. It is measurably smaller than the Dawg rounded mandolin picks. In size, it compares most to the Golden Gate. In thickness, it is much thicker than most picks--Clarence White thick. If you look at the blue chip company picks, which cost ten times more, it is like a SR 60 thickness, which is quite thick. If you like the size of the Golden Gate picks which are about a dollar each, you will probably like this thicker Jim Dunlop Americana pick.

Dunlop 494P101 Americana Round Triangle Picks
I really like how these picks play and sound. Amazon overshipped me some picks on an order correction but I will keep the extras instead of returning.
