Does it need special software to use digital video saved on a USB flash drive? If so what do I need? thanks. LS

I'm using the Vpedal on a Mac Computer. I use it to transcribe interviews I shoot on broadcast cameras. I use QuickTime player to view and transcribe the interviews. There was no special software, other than: QuickTime player (which comes free with the mac computer) And the driver for the Vpedal (I downloaded the control panel driver from the Vpedal website for free). My videos were not on USB flash drives, I copied them from the camera into my hard drive. I would think as long as you are able to play the videos in QuickTime, I don't think the Vpedal care if they are on USB FLash drive or on the computer. If you have a PC, then disregard my comments, as I have not used it on a PC

Does the vpedal work with vlc video software for the mac?

Yes, complimentary OMNI plug-in is available from Vpedal with allow communication with VLC software. Setup instructions also available. 10 sec - fast forward / rewind are hard coded into VLC and are not adjustable.

Will this pedal work with Windows Media Player?

It doesn't work with Windows Media Player...at least not when I tried to hook it up. It works well with Express Scribe software though:)

Can i stop/start itunes in background while typing into ms word file? need to transcribe family oral history. running mac os 10.11.6.
