Great comic book series
I bought the entire series after it was complete, and published in deluxe hard cover collections. I still bought them one volume at a time, and read them in sequence. Even that approach was nail biting in some cases when I couldn't get the book right away when I was done reading the previous one!! Maybe worth noting that when I started reading “Y” I was in a “Walking Dead” mindset, having just finished re-reading the entire collected works all the way to Volume 8. The story is captivating, even though the plot in itself is not super original. Being the last man on earth, literally, is not a new theme. But the main story, the side stories and all the characters are very well rounded. The timeline and chronology is very well handled. I loved the black panels with white text to set the place and time context. The drawing, which is such an important part for me when reading comic books or graphic novels, is very very solid, brilliant in some cases. I look at the pages a lot, without even reading words, for quite some time, before reading the story. Even if I could notice when the artist changed, it was not detrimental to the quality, the flow, or the story telling. The ONLY thing that I could mention as a very slight negative is the panel cut which is almost clinically identical across the entire story, except for some full page art, full bleed coloring, and some other effects of that nature. I am used to –and enjoy– more original cutting of the panels as in European comics from France, Spain, Belgium, etc. and it made it to the more traditional US and English comics too. The chapters detailing the interaction and instructions between the writer and the artist, the sketches, and other extra material definitely make those books a great addition to your comics collection. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

An Excellent Continuation of the Series
I really enjoyed this second book of the graphic novel series, especially with how it attacks a lot more adult themes than the first book. The result though, is parts that are a little x-rated and odd, but they serve to really evolve the main character Yorick Brown. There are excellent bits here, with the possibility of more men existing (as they were orbiting the Earth at the time of the event that killed all of the males in the world), militias in the time of a fractured government, traveling acting troupes (as the loss of electricity has eliminated most forms of entertainment), among other adventures. I will say that two of the issues in the middle are kind of goofy, they probably made a lot more sense when they were in the form of a single issue comic book, but here they really feel out of place. This short section features a ninja attacking the monkey Ampersand, who is rescued by a group of actors, and serves as a muse for a play featuring the last man on earth. It's really an odd tangent, but in the end it really helps develop some of the characters. There are a bunch of new characters introduced in this book, and they are all excellent and unique, that it sucks when they exit the story, either by violence or just the main group moving on without them. The art is again excellent here, and I love some of the use of full page panels that mixed in throughout, any of which would be great as a poster. Overall, this is an excellent sequel, and after reading it I immediately bought the other three deluxe edition books of the series sight unseen. Highly recommended.

A solid continuation
This wasn't as good as the previous volume but still a decent follow up.I hope it gets better in the next volumes.

Keep the hits coming.
Following the first 10 issues of the series, Book two of Y the Last Man kicks the story into another gear. I had my reservations about this series through the first volume, but I am now fully into this story. After leaving Marrisville in the last issue, issues 11-23 follow the trio on there journey to California. I will say it's a little ridiculous that they haven't gotten there yet, considering the dialogue indicates that one issue = one month, but this is a minor flaw. Along the way, Yorick, 355, and Dr. Mann meet a number of communities of woman, and see how everyone is keeping up after the gendercide. This focus on the side stories has given this series a much wider sense of scope and a number of fascinating characters. Even better, Ampersand is no longer causing tons of problems for the trio, which was my biggest problem with the first volume.I can't wait to see where the series goes from here.

Arrived Damaged
Spine is cracked and damaged in several places, and the pages were bent and warped. This was supposed to be a new copy but it looks like someone threw it around before packing it.

BEST GRAPHIC NOVEL EVER!!!!!
I try to read just about every graphic novel out there... but this series sets the bar above so much higher than the rest! First off, the story is incredible... a world dominated by females simply because there are no males left alive, except one. To put this simply, the world is falling apart at the seems, and factions of women are fighting each other for power and control. There are parts of this book that will literally leave the reader (at least it did for me) with their jaw down... it has images that feels like a machine pressed stamped it in your head). All of the human elements of humor, romance, mystery, violence, death, destruction, power, greed, and compassion are brought forth brilliantly.Put simply, I loved this book and had no real intention of classifying it as one of the best until after I read it!!! I simply couldn't get enough of this series, so I purchased the next one immediately and continued my journey in the lonely existance of thinking, what would it be like to be the last guy left in a world that has gone completely nuts!!! GREAT BOOK and a MUST HAVE in any graphic novel collection!I seriously hope this gets made into a film someday because its story of humanity should resonate through every living person.

Gran obra
