Blood slaves
First of all, its an easy reading style. You get drawn into the characters and their world quickly and it makes you want to know more. Annika is relatable and the strong female character we all like to see. Jacen is less relatable but I'm interested to see if his character continues to develop in the next book. The storyline is interesting enough to continue to the next book. I definitely want to see if Annika gets her wish.

Great first book in this Dark world
I enjoy this style of writing, and it’s easy to get into and relax with. There is plenty of action, limited romance, and a cliffhanger to keep you wanting more. I don’t rate critically unless the author has done something that I feel makes no sense, and this book did not have that problem in my opinion.

Wow! (No spoilers)
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much. I usually don’t read vampire related books. I do like Madow’s writing style and her other books, so I thought I’d give it a try. I’m glad I did!I highly recommend reading this book, even if you’re not interested in vampires, the story and main character are saucy? Spicy? Creative? Fun? Magical.

A bold and fresh vampire series you can sink your teeth into
I think we've all found we at least have a bit more free time then we normally would (or like me, you're swimming in free time) so obviously I was going to seize this very long moment and unapologetically throw myself into a book (or a series as the case might be). I discovered Michelle Madow's Vampire Wish Series and I seriously can't get enough. She seamlessly weaves all your favorite parts of more widely known fantasy books and gives the reader a round trip literary excursion you can't help but get sucked into and have no desire to leave.Having read twilight and other vampire novels I kinda expected for this to be maybe a palatable adaptation of the Twilight series or the like, which would've been perfect given the state the world is in.I got so much more than I bargained for. There are some similarities to Twilight but it's as if the author knows your taste personally and plucks the elements that made you fall in love with the books along with other literary allusions to deliver a refreshingly fresh book series that will keep you on the edge of your seat. There is absolutely nothing fanfiction about this series which was also something I was leery about it.You get to see all the major characters' point of view which, given the way this author executes this style of narration is completely fresh and addicting. How more people aren't aware of and enjoying this series is beyond me.It's the perfect Corona virus distraction.Like I said there are some similarities between this series and Twilight but only in the way that it is unavoidable. The worlds she has created are beautiful, the characters aren't stale reimagined caricatures of characters we've already met in this genre. And what a great price for these gems! All 5 books are easily affordable. If like me you are searching for a reprieve from the events of the world as late this is the series for you.

... aren't the only ones wolf shifters and witches are like this as well
Vampires and these are the psychotic and evil to the core kind and they aren't the only ones wolf shifters and witches are like this as well. It's like ninety-nine percent of the supernaturals in this series are evil. The Vampire Wish I would say is a mix of the television series the Originals and A Shade of Vampire with a dash of Aladdin weird I know but it was good.I am a slow reader but I was able to read The Vampire Wish in one sitting. It was a quick and easy read with a story I liked and something I could get into. The story is filled with all sorts of supernaturals and how they get along with each other and what happens when that starts to fracture. The world was good but I couldn't help but be remind of A Shade of Vampire and I only read the first book in that series (I plan on reading at least the first seven books in that series). I mean I couldn't help but compare the two stories. Girl on vacation kidnapped by vampires and turned into their slave and then enters the dark and brooding vampire prince. That didn't bother me I actually didn't mind it at all but the characters bother me a little.Annika sends off good vibes and seems like she can take care of herself she easily believes people, people she shouldn't believe I mean hello you were just in fear for your life and now you trust her, WHAT. Then there is the tortured vampire prince and he doesn't want to be this way but does somethings that contradict that. I understand character flaws up sometimes it didn't workAs for the plot, like I said before it reminds me of the Originals, that couldn't help but keep my interest. Seven original vampires each rule a kingdom and lots of human killing ensues but there are a couple of twist including a very Aladdin like moment in the end which I tell you I wouldn't believe that Michelle could have fit it in.Overall I like The Vampire Wish and I will be reading the next book in the series, Vampire Prince.3.5 stars

I'm hooked on this captivating series
Annika is a human who watches as vampires kill her family, but they keep her alive to become a blood slave to their kind. Whisked away to the Vale, a town for the blood slaves that sits below the vampire palace, Annika hates her new life... until she meets a handsome stranger on Christmas Eve. Jacen, a swimmer training for the Olympics, who has been newly turned into a Vampire Prince, feels a connection with Annika the first time he sees her. Can a human and a vampire have a future? What does the palace’s witch, Camila, want with a human blood slave?A well written, clean YA romance that has enough details, action and plot twists to keep you (adults, too!) reading well past bed time! Michelle’s writing style allows me to envision the Vale and the Vampire Palace as if I was there in person. I found myself hating the vampires, cheering for Annika, and hopeful for a romance between her and Jacen. Vampires, witches, wolf-shifters and human blood slaves… what more could you ask for in a book! I loved this book and I'm not a YA anymore! This captivating, well written book ends with a cliffhanger, so you'll want to get Book 2, The Vampire Prince, immediately! I'm hooked on this series!

Two great main characters with a great attraction to each other.
I love a good vampire novel. This one for me started of slow, took a while for me to get into it. Not sure if it was to much information and so much going on and getting to know who was who and what was what but I did have to put it down and come back to it.I loved the connection between the two characters though, through reading it, you could sense this attraction and well done to the author for being able to do that. I am intrigued as to why she is immune (won't go into details) I seem to only like these two in this novel and just can't stand the others, but think the way it's written is what makes me dislike some of them.I didn't like the ending as felt it just stopped but that's a personal thing. If the next novel to this is the same price I will see what happens, but it didn't pull me in enough to think omg can't wait for the next book.New author for me so maybe I am unfamiliar with her writing style, but do love a good novel that pulls you in, keeps you up all night then at work you drink so much coffee just to get through the day lol

Enjoyed it
I loved the world and the characters. And regardless of the plotholes that are very minor and insta-love (though it could just be seen as a crush, really) I would highly recommend it. I loved it. And onto the the next book!!!Five stars because of my pure enjoyment.

A little bit dark, but otherwise decent book for young teens
The writing style and general sophistication is clearly aimed at kids, I'd guess maybe around age 12, and it is well done. Clear, simple writing, relatable characters, easy to follow plot. Unfortunately, being vampires, the story involves some very ambiguous morality, dealing with issues of freedom of choice, moral culpability, and the ethics of murder and mindrape. YMMV, but these are really NOT things the average preteen is equipped to address. In summary: a plot for adults, writing for children.

Buffet type heroine
Wasn't sure if would enjoy but surprisingly did was a good read and kept me gripped. Loved the connection between the two main characters would possibly order the next book to find out what happens.

The vampire wish (dark world 1)
Slow easy start to the story, describing a little bit about the lives of the main characters, then twist and a whole new exciting world opens up for them, completely different in a ghastly way. Looking forward to the next book in the series
