I get years of use

Normally, I love to get the best of the best, regardless of how much money it is. I was looking for some durable plates that are easy to clean and will last a long time. Sure, the expensive ceramic plates may look fancy, but they chip and crack very easily, so you'll end up paying for more plates if you want them to continue looking good enough to show off. Then you have yourself super duty plates like you find at restaurants. The problem with those is that the designs aren't quite good, and the finish wears off very easily, so it just looks very used after a short period of time. This plate is made out of glass, basically. Because of that, there is no finish or glaze to wear off. It's lighter too, and it won't ever chip. These also take up less space in storage. Not to mention that these are dirt cheap. The only downside is the design. It's white, round, and as simple as simple can get. It's not something to show off. But it's OK. Why? I'm a guy, and I don't have anyone else in my life that would tell me to get fancy dishes, so utilitarianism is the name of the game when it comes to my purchasing decision. Thus, I choose these.

We purchased a set of Corelle Winter Frost Livingware in the 1990s after our earlier set of everyday stoneware had lost too many pieces to be useful. A few pieces were broken over the years from falls but they didn't tend to crack or chip from minor bumps or short drops that would have sent the old stoneware to the trash.Fast-forward twenty-something years, we're still using our Winter Frost as our everyday dishes so it was great to see them still available and performing the same as always when we wanted to add to our set. Check them closely when your dishes arrive since they can be damaged in shipping as some reviewers have noted, but our set arrived very well packed and in excellent condition; if you receive a set that was damaged in shipping, return them and get another set since it's more likely to due to handling along the way rather than the manufacturing.In closing, Corelle Winter Frost White Livingware is by no means invincible and they probably aren't as visually interesting as a set of artistic china, but they're great for everyday use, they last well over time, and they won't break the bank initially or when you finally need to add more. I very much recommend these.

I've used Corelle for over fifty years! Light, easy to clean, attractive, and the white is the same as ever so old and new mix seamlessly, Great stuff!

This is easy. My Moms always collected china and fine dinnerware. She bought these Mikasa Japanese bowls that would chip easily. Yet, as far back as I remember, asking Moms over the phone about buying dinnerware, the words "Corning" and "Corelle" would always resonate.Now I'm taking care of Moms. I change diapers; administer pills; give sponge baths. And -- I'm the short-order cook. We've broken some dishes over the last few years. Yes! I must include some Corelle-ware among the casualties, because we use them so frequently. They are mostly resistant to breakage, but when they break, they can shatter into quite a few slender shards. They are still the preferred choice: microwave and dishwasher safe. They are very sturdy.

Love these dishes. A modern clean and yet elegant looking dishware. I was tired of chipping or breaking dishes with my arthritic hands. These are lightweight and unbreakable. Very happy, also bought the platter and looking to add to my collection.
