Not as interactive as the other books in the series. But we are Van Fleet Fans all the way so this book is still a worthy contender and has great contrasting big colors and numbers and each page folds put to reveal animals in the color and quantity on the page. If you are expecting the intensity and interactive level of Heads, Tails, Alphabet or Fuzzy yellowducklings, this book is not it. But ,

I am a 61 year old grandmother and I still like this book. I bought my first for my 1st grandchild before he was born. He liked it right away. This book is simple, clever, very colorful and the pictures are charming. Through it children can learn colors, animals, numbers, counting and beginning reading.Tiny babies enjoy looking at the bright colors. Toddlers enjoy counting the animals. Pre-schoolers enjoy reading it to you.The left hand pages say the number and the color. The right side pages show the number and unfold to become a picture of the animal. It is printed on heavy, shiny stock so it is sturdy and can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. Thirteen years of our family's grandchildren still enjoy their copies. This was my son’s favorite book when he was little, about 25 years ago. It’s a good counting book with colorful illustrations. Didn’t mind reading it over and over.

Clever book that creates animals from each number counting from 1-10. It shows the number on half of the page and once you fully open the other side of the page, the number transforms into fun animals. My son loves reading this book and now knows to expect before we can even open the whole page. Fun!

I love the idea behind this book, but unfortunately the printed colors are not right, and it is very confusing in a children’s color teaching book.

A delight. My almost one-year-old granddaughter loves the book along with other Matthew Van Fleet creations. Yes, the book features numbers, colors, and animals, but the winning point is the fold-out option as children this age prefer to participate; here they turn the fold out to see the picture. Lovely illustrations too.

Sweet first book for your children or grandchildren. I gave as a baby gift.
