Good Culture Classic Cottage Cheese (Plain)

I, purchaser went against my gut feeling and bought cottage cheese for $24. There was no description again my mistake, I was hoping bur reasonable volume. However, a perishable product, 16 oz, took 2 days to get from the east coast to the West Coast and while they say there was enough packaging it was melted by the time it got here. They offered nothing back and said I could still eat it. I will not eat it. Again, I accept my limited responsibility. The "perishable " stamp was so damn small, looked like postage stamp. I am sure Fed Ex never noticed the stamp.

I've been eating to get more protein in my diet and this has 14g per serving. It is nicely dense-but not at all dry. Thought I'd try a couple name brands lately, but they were loose and flavorless. Personally GOOD is worth it's price - though I have found it on sale for under $4 for 16 oz and buy 4 or so containers then. Though it would be nice if the standard price was just a bit lower so that stores would keep it in stock, I'm a bit confused about the Amazon price of $24.99 for 5.3 oz? According to the Q&A that's for just one 5.3oz container? I must be reading something wrong!Anyway - I enjoy it almost every morning with berries, or cucumber, just lots of black pepper, or plain.It seems wrong that the rating on a product goes down because someone had a bad experience with *delivery*, which has nothing to do with the product itself. 5 stars from me for the product. 0 stars for the price if I'm understanding it right!

Overpriced

I used to live on this daily and it was a great product. Now almost every container I open has a pink moldy slime on it upon opening. Today I opened a brand new container with expiration date of 9/30 and it was moldy. I have had to throw away the last 4 containers. Such a shame because it used to never happen. I would buy 3-5 containers a week. I buy from various sources and it’s always the same issue.

Once upon a time we had cottage cheese. Our family favorite was Knudson. It wasn't organic but it was hard to get organics then and they didn't taste right. Then something changed and Knudson became the same yucky stuff all the other brands were. We stopped eating cottage cheese. We substituted goat cheese and ricotta and such. It was ok for most stuff but we missed it. Especially when there's a cantaloupe...So cottage cheese is back! Check it out.Problems: It only comes in plastic (boo! hiss!) and no store we've found carries it in anything besides $2 for 5ish ounces. It needs a price break and to come in 16 ounce size. It is made, just is not widely distributed yet it seems.

HOWEVER, DON'T BUY IT ONLINE AT THIS RIDICULOUS PRICE! It is totally incorrect. Get it at Whole Foods or Safeway. There it usually is approx. $1.59 for the small container. There is a larger size as well. Imagine, 19 grams of Protein, and it tastes great.

This is really good stuff. I had to say goodbye to my old brand.
