The KRONOS is an industry mainstay
I love the Kronos. It's super reliable, and the ergonomics are great. I own five of them (2 red, 1 blue, one shark design, and this green one). If you don't own any RIVAL guns and you're interested in getting into the hobby, the Kronos is an excellent entry-level blaster. And if you decided that you want to buy a more competitive blaster after that, the Kronos makes an excellent sidearm. When I bought this green Kronos it was defective, but the seller replaced it immediately. Great customer service. ========================================== UPDATE: I have now purchased 12 different NERF RIVAL Kronos blasters. While I love the aesthetics of the new custom paint jobs that launched in 2022 (shark, teal, and green), I have sadly seen a sharp decline in the quality of the product. 7 of my Kronos blasters were purchased in the original red or blue form. Of those 7 blasters, 7 of of them work great. But I've purchased the new teal model twice, and one of them was so defective the ammo goes about two feet before hitting the ground. I bought two green ones, and it was the same story: one defective, one fine. I purchased the shark model, and it worked fine for a few months, but became fairly inconsistent after that. So if you haven't purchased a Kronos before, I'd recommend only getting one of the original red or blue models. They are certainly more expensive, but they're also much less likely to be a defective lemon. My review score for those original models is still 5 stars, but the new paint jobs are more like a 2 star product. Very very sad.

Info before you return it
It's actually pretty awesome. I see that it's often returned. I may know why. It's tricky to figure out. When I first pulled back the mechanism it seemed stuck and I couldn't load it or fire it. Seemed broken. Turns out, I needed to pull it back twice as far as I thought. It's actually takes some strength, but you get used to it. And it reflects how hard the things shoots. Then, when it's all the way back, press down the 5 balls into the chamber, 1 on top of the other. Good luck!

Definitely more intense and impressive nerf gun
I got this as a gift for a kid for Christmas. They sent us videos of them laughing and playing with it and it was crazy impressive! Quality: This nerf gun definitely has some bite to it's bark if you know what I mean. This thing shoots far and hard! It is perfect for an older kid that wants a step up from his average nerf gun. Think an in between for a nerf gun and a bb gun. He is 10 and he loves this thing! His friends also think it is really cool. My husband and him will have nerf gun wars with it and my husband even enjoys them (he is 28). Price: The price point is great considering you get a better nerf gun for the price of a normal nerf gun! Super reasonable and I think it makes a great gift for the kids in your lives. If I received it as a gift, I would think it was more expensive than it actually is.

Great blast, poor assembly!
This a great blaster, and all in all fun for plinking targets around the house. I haven't caused any damage to anything yet, but I imagine if someone isn't careful, you might have to buy a new flatscreen tv in the future :P Also don't shoot it at people without eye protection, animals, etc. Something that I think is a fair warning to anyone looking to get this nerf blaster, or one of the recolors is to make sure to check the screws. When I first fired mine, I noticed that it performed poorly, and the front end of the blaster was coming apart. As it turns out, three of the screws were not set properly and the blaster was splitting in half. It's a very easy fix though, so don't fret! I used a screwdriver to take out and reset the screws, making sure they were as tight as possible, and now it works just fine!

QC isn't great but when it works it works.
I bought a few of these and one of them most likely had a defect in manufacturing as getting it to shoot cleanly was impossible as it took 2 times pulling back the slide and only traveled at like 10 fps when shot. I tried opening it and couldn't find any obvious issues. The ones that do work are great and shoot with a high enough velocity to to sting if getting hit anywhere. It is kind of hard to pull back as it is spring action, so it probably isn't recommended for kids less than 10 (age rating is 14+).

If only these could actually shoot to put an end to my misery.
I now own 6 Kronos'. I ordered the green one for $5 and the seals are so bad it will not even shoot the rounds to the end of the barrel. If you are experienced with taking apart nerf guns and this gun, it's worth it to fix, especially for the price (you can also use this god-awful thing for parts and scrap it.) None the less I am still very disappointed with this particular Kronos. I also ordered two shark mouth designs and 1 shoots a little softer than the original Kronos (by the way it is over 6 years old.) And the 2nd one lobs the rounds. It's unfortunate because these options look badass, and the shell quality is on par with other blasters. The Rival Kronos is arguably the best Rival blaster you can get but stay far away from these abominations that you see. Spend your money on an original Kronos from 2018 (White, red&blue, and limited editions.) You might get lucky and have a good one, but you will most likely have to buy 5 of them. As far as fixing goes you can make them shoot hard how they're supposed to. Take it apart, pull the plunger out of the plunger tube, either replace the O-ring with a larger one or put a small rubber band under it, and test fire until its right. There are plenty of videos on YouTube on how to take the gun apart and once you get the hang of it it's like Legos. You can also modify these blasters in many ways. Overall, don't buy this crap. Spend your money on an older/original one that you don't have to fix.

Loads of fun for the whole neighborhood
The NERF Rival Kronos XVIII-500 can be a lot of fun to play with, especially for those who enjoy competitive and fast-paced shooting games. Here are some reasons why it can be enjoyable: 1. Precision and Accuracy: NERF Rival blasters are known for their accuracy and precision, making it satisfying to aim and shoot at targets or opponents. 2. High-Quality Build: The Kronos XVIII-500 is typically well-built and durable, designed for intense play and capable of withstanding rough handling. 3. Competitive Gameplay: NERF Rival blasters are often used in competitive and team-based games, adding an element of strategy and excitement to play. 4. High-Velocity Rounds: These blasters use foam rounds that are fired at higher velocities compared to standard NERF darts, making battles more intense. 5. Manual Operation: The Kronos XVIII-500 is manually operated, requiring users to prime it before each shot, which can be engaging and immersive. 6. Compatibility: Rival blasters are often compatible with a range of accessories and other Rival blasters, allowing for customization and versatility in gameplay. However, it's important to note that the enjoyment of any NERF blaster, including the Kronos XVIII-500, depends on personal preferences and the type of games you like to play. Some people may prefer more casual NERF blasters, while others enjoy the competitive nature of Rival blasters. Ultimately, whether it's fun or not depends on your individual interests and how you plan to use it in your playtime.

Solid build and satisfying priming and firing
Purchased this for only $5 from the states, the Rival Nerf guns never seem to arrive to Australian shores, it's a great little toy/executive stress reliever.

A quintessential necessity for any nerf collector.
The Kronos is a must buy for any serious Nerf collector. It's a favorite of all from the most casual to the hobbyist modder. Pros: - very solid state blaster, not full of creaky plastic. - a proper slide prime lets you prime it and have it at the ready as a sidearm without the risk of breakage that T and O pulls present (and i have no idea why modders ruin their Kronos by putting them on). - shoots 90-100 feet per second and out ranges most full length Nerf darts. - Iron sights are close to the barrel. - Has a safety switch (necessary, because to reload it you have to prime it half way). - Back panel to indicate if it is primed. - has a very solid pop when firing, indicative of quality. Cons: - must be firmly and intentionally racked to fire. This might be too much for small kids. - not as pin pointingly accurate as after market standard and short length dart options. So just get it. Everyone else has it, you need it too.

Don't buy this unless you know how to fix it
Amazon exclusive Kronos has a QC issue; I received a defective one and had to search online for a tutorial to fix it myself. The issue is that inside the barrel it's not sealing enough, had to disassemble it and enhance it with etape, luckily can get it fixed otherwise I don't know want to do since returning it from Singapore might cost more than the blaster itself!!

Accurate and fun
Great little Need gun. Comes with 5 bullets (refill bullets available on Amazon, and I recommend you get some because they can get lost quickly) This gone is very accurate. We wanted to see how powerful it was so we shot each other in the butt, and it stings a little, but no bruises. 😁

Very good accuracy
This blaster may not be as powerful as nerf ultra 4 but it is still powerful. It's the most accurate blaster I've ever used. From a distance of 10 meter, I can easily hit a target.. even if I miss, it's always by few inches. Build quality of this blaster is good, no jams or malfunction..
