My doctor recommends this to help control my blood sugar. It seems to work well as my numbers are back in the normal limits…Just remember my doctor is tracking me using this!!!!

Berberine has made me taller, smarter and better looking. Or maybe that was caused by something else, how would I know? The point is that unless you dedicate yourself to a very scientific method of evaluating such a product, you will not know how it effects you. That would require a long period of time in which the only change in your routine, your diet, your exercise etc was the product you are evaluating. Then you might be able to determine some effect- good or bad. I haven't done that.I have read about true scientific tests (actual studies, not gossip from popular magazines or web forums) that indicate berberine might be useful for human health. They were convincing enough to get me to buy this. I will keep up with future studies and may change my nutrient mix accordingly. This company with a silly name seems to have the best price, but are the ingredients exactly as they claim?I recommend the same honest evaluation from all reviewers. If you think a product is improving your health, try to be objective and not emotional in your evaluation. Use facts wherever possible. If you see a review with miraculous claims, be suspicious.

I went off Metformin after 3 months, then my weight loss stalled for several weeks. A month after I discontinued Metformin, I noticed I was getting hungry 2 hours after eating, and at odd times between meals. My cravings for sweets returned (they had disappeared while on Metformin). I assumed this was because of the diabetes. I continued my low carb diet and about three weeks ago discovered berberine. I began taking one 900-mg capsule 2x a day. After about 10 days, my appetite returned to normal and cravings for sweets faded away. The weight loss began again. In the four weeks before berberine, I went up and down two pounds, so essentially stayed the same. In the three weeks since taking berberine daily, I lost 6 pounds. My diet didn't change, the amount of food I ate didn't change. I have no side effects at all with berberine, where with Metformin I was tired all the time and often nauseated. Haven't had a blood test since taking berberine to see where my AC1 levels are, but that's less of an issue than the normalizing of my appetite, the loss of cravings and the continued weight loss. Berberine is definitely doing what I need it to do. I intend to stay on it indefinitely.

I was diagnosed as being border line diabetic so even though I was not prescribed Metformin I asked my doctor could I use it to help lower my A1C to prevent it from going higher. I read numerous scientific articles that stated it was safe and that the side effects were minimal and would go away. Not in my case. I became violently ill after taking Metformin. I stopped and restarted several times and even cut the dose in half and still could not tolerate it. I researched the internet to find something natural that could replace Metformin and stumbled on this wonder supplement. I cautiously tried it and was very pleased with how positive my body reacted. Over all my glucose went down and I did not change my diet. I seem to even be holding my urine better as I am no longer getting up in the middle of the night to pee. Everything does not work for everybody but I can say through the holiday season I ate extra and did not gain any weight, so that was an added bonus. I can't wait to see how my body does now that my eating will be back to normal.

PLUS: I had been buying a more expensive brand name and thought I'd try this. It seems to work as well. It is apparently a generic product with a couple of companies slapping on their own labels because the bottles and capsules are exactly the same: white, opaque capsules with golden berberine inside. I had purchased this product and the other company's at the same time, and I opened both bottles to compare.MINUS: I won't buy from this supplier again. I absolutely cringe when I see misspellings, and to have a misspelled Company Name is beyond unprofessional. I know I'm probably way too picky, but I just get a flash of annoyance every time I pick up this bottle! :) These exact same capsules are available at a slightly lower price from the other supplier (who also sells on amazon). I will purchase from that supplier again in the future.

I got this for myself, but I discovered that it is very effective for preventing and treating cases of mucoid enteropathy in rabbits! One of my baby rabbits got sick, and usually when that happens, the rabbit will be dead within a matter of hours, regardless of what one tries to save it. Because I had read that Berberine has antibiotic properties against Clostridium perfringens, I gave the bunny half a capsule by mouth. I was very pleased that the bunny quickly recovered. A week later, another bunny got sick, and again, Berberine saved it.The cases I used Berberine for are not a statistically valid sample, and I am not a veterinarian, so this is not valid veterinary advice. However, it appears that Berberine is worthy of further investigation as a treatment for that devastating disease of baby rabbits.
