Simple, easy to use, comfortable, easily worth the $ I paid.
It's a pretty simple watch, no fancy thermometers or altimeters or full-fledged GPS tranceivers built-in, but this is the best watch I've ever owned. I haven't owned many and I usually don't wear watches since a cellphone now a days can easily give you the time. But I'm living in a desert environment for at least the next year and there is no cell phone reception out here, so I'm not ever turning it on. This watch is great for any type of usage (on the job, exercise, etc.). The dial is actually quite nice to look at and wearing it never causes irritability. It's very functional for its size, weight and price--I'm actually quite surprised at how useful it is.Pros:-Very lightweight and almost undetectable on your wrist. The casing it a lightweight metal, the crystal is plastic (which is also a con, see below), and the band is a resin (rubber).-Highly functional. The face is very informative, providing digital and analog readouts, the date which can be toggled to the week day by a single button, two full-time digital chronometers (in seconds) and other little notifications.-This thing has a tiltmeter! There is a function (I believe for wearing it on the left wrist only) where if you tilt your wrist as if looking at your watch, the Indiglow (backlight) will turn on. And you are able to toggle this function on/off by holding down the backlight button--an icon will pop on or off the dial to let you know the state of the function.-Stylish. While the chrome top casing is only chrome-plated (or chrome paint) plastic, it does look pretty ncie. The dial and crystal especially look nice. The hour and minute hands are luminescent in the dark too.-World time zones and automatic, toggle-able daylight savings time.-Audible top-of-the-hour notification can be toggled on/off.-4 different alarm settings-Countdown timer and stopwatch functions.-Lightweight and comfortable resin band.Cons:-Snooze function is pretty much worthless. First of all, you have to set it as though it's an alarm clock. For instance, if you set the alarm for 8 a.m., you then have to set the snooze to 8:05 a.m. in order to attain 5 minutes of snooze time. Worst yet, it only reactivates the alarm once...and not for very long either. This is not a watch that heavy sleepers and slow risers should count on.-Plastic crystal (clear cover). This thing is easily scratched and scuffed so watch where you swing your arm. It would be better if the crystal was glass.-When setting the hour and analog hands, it is done electronically instead of a winding wheel. This makes the movement INCREDIBLY slow! And you can't wind it backwards either! All in all, this is a very solid watch and a great deal for the money. It's durable enough to go anywhere with it, just be careful not to scratch that plastic crystal. And don't use this watch as an alarm clock unless you're quick to rise in the morning. You don't need a manual to set this thing to your liking, but prepare to devote a few minutes to it when it arrives in the mail. Other than a very short list of downsides, this watch is ideal for anyone. It's not gonna turn heads, but it'll do the job and do it well. If the crystal was more scratch-resistant, it would get a 5-star from me as I'm not a stickler for waking up on time due to the lax work environment I'm currently in. I do plan on buying another one of these if the crystal gets too worn from being out in this dusty, windy desert region.

excellent excellent watch
For my needs, I believe it's a great watch. You do have to understand this review is coming from someone not into smart watches. I use iPhone, Macbook Air, but I just don't believe in smart watches like iWatch or other brands. That you have to charge a watch every so often is tedious. This watch is inexpensive, it's digital but analog so you can see the time very quickly, gives you day of the week and the date, has this seconds countdown that you can use if you are in healthcare profession to time pulses, lights up if you are in dark area, and if you need more light you can push a button to have the blue backlight, has multiple other functions a digital watch usually have, keep good time, water resistant so you don't have to take off in shower or taking a swim, comfortable to wear, durable as I've had it for almost 2 years, it's a just a great digital watch. The best of digital and analog, the best combination with the best original function and features of the original digital watches back in the day.The only drawback is the glass. Actually I'm not sure if it's glass or plastic, but it's easily scratched. I didn't do this before but I realized the way to avoid scratches is to put on like watch screen shield, glass or plastic, in the same way you do for your phones. And you can actually find them online, and also on Amazon (I'm not advertising for Amazon lol). The wrist band lasts, good quality, hasn't broken down for me, I've had the watch for almost 2 years.Overall I highly recommend it. It's exterior design makes it look not cheap, just looking like a good decent digital watch.

Finally I got a keeper from Casio
This is the 3rd Casio I buy in the last year... and the cheapest. I previously tried the G601-1AV and later the GW1300A-9AV, both of the G-Shock family. However, I was looking for one with analog and digital time, but easy to read and with night illumination. The G601 is nice, but the small rounded digital displays are a bit too small for my old eyes, and the night illumination is only for the digital displays!. Then I bought the GW1300 because it was advertised as having two LEDs that illuminated the whole face of the watch and was solar powered. True! but... the design is such that when the face is illuminated in the dark, it is so full of shiny surfaces and reflections that you can hardly distinguish the analog hands, and nothing of the digital displays. So, I kept looking and finally decided on this one, the AQ160W with not too much hope... and voila! it was perfect for me! Thinner than the G-Shocks and very light weight, the digital displays are big and easy to read, even if the hands are over them (the digits look gold on day light, very nice, not like the picture here which shows how it looks when the green back light is on). The backlight, with optional auto turn-on, is perfectly readable, and you can see, besides the big numbers, the silhouette of the analog hands over the background. I am ready to give up the 200m water resist, the solar power, the waveceptor auto time set, the automatic handles setting by the digital clock, all for the good design of this watch. It would be perfect if Casio added to this one the solar power and the auto setting of the analog clock. The dual world time, auto calendar, chronometer, timer, multiple alarms, are all common features of these watches however. The only drawback for me is the extremely thin resin band, which being very confortable, does not look long lasting. I hope I can find replacements in the future.Anyway, great watch! My search is over...(I must say that this search would have been much easier if I had the chance to try these watches in a local store before buying, but none of these models were available where I live.)Update 26/Oct/2009: After 2 years of almost continuous use, the battery still works and the resin band, though not looking like new anymore, has no sign of deterioration. I was wrong thinking that it would break easily. Great watch!Update July 2010: the battery refuses to die... the resin band has no sign of cracks... so what can I say? The backlight is dimmer though, so I am buying a new one soon. I definitively recommend it.Update November 2011: I did get a new one last year as announced (and give the old one away to a nephew) and it is as good as the previous one. One year with no sign of deterioration, not even a scratch and the band looks in perfect condition... I will definitively keep buying them every 3 years... Really happy with it.Update January 2015: Well, after buying 6 of these watches since 2007, I am not doing it anymore. The watch is still one of the best in terms of size, design and features, but something changed in the manufacturing of the case, and my last 4 have all died by breaking off. The first two I gave them away when the battery was about to die and the plastic dial window got too scratched. But then each of the next 4 broke off in the same place: the part of the case where the band spring loaded pin attaches. The case is plastic (even on the one with metal band that I tried too) and the band holding pin is inserted in the case on two little holes. These holes are near the case surface and the plastic around brakes and the spring loaded pin comes loose. I lost one watch this way, the other 3 fell on the floor at home... This happened after about a year of use of each one, and without applying any force, so I suspect that the plastic used on the later versions is somehow affected by sweat and gets weaker. If Casio would place a metal insert in this part of the case to reinforce it where the band pins are inserted, then this problem would be solved. Until then, I am moving to Timex T5K4029J... more expensive but I hope longer lasting.... What a pity, I take away one star... :-(

Great watch, lots of feature, can use after market strap or Nato strap
Casio makes great low cost watch. I have several Casio and this one has best design. The steel top plate improve the look of the watch and make it kind of classy. Unlike most Casio, this watch can double as a minimalist dress watch as the digital portion is designed to be low key. Just switch out the resin strap and replace with a leather strap ( or Nato) and you have a very versatile time piece. The analog hands are kind of short but have lume that last at least 6 hours , there is a back light in case you need to read the digital time at night. Beware the lug width is a odd 17mm. I can use my 18mm strap without any problem.
