We bought this window unit because of its small size and weight to install in our casement window. It fits PERFECTLY by taking out just one pane of glass. For anyone with a bare minimum of handyman skills, I highly recommend.If you have an old-school casement window like we have, all you need is a good quality hacksaw. First, take one of your 4-pane windows off the hinges (you might need the saw for that). Then saw the bottom panel off, exactly even with the next divider.On the AC unit itself, there are 2 metal feet on the bottom. You'll need to pry them up and then saw them off (this probably voids the warranty, but oh well-- it's a cheap unit). Then pull off the 2 plastic knobs and remove the front panel (there are 2 screws).After that, all you need to do is install. To do this you'll have to come in from the outside (don't forget a perch!). There's a vertical line of metal brackets on each side of the unit about 4" from the front. With a little elbow grease those brackets will slide right over the casement window frame. Then put the 3-pane window back in place. It should fit precisely.Put the front cover back on and the knobs back in, and voila! It looks like it was made to fit there.I can't say how it performs just yet. We just bought it and it blows nice and cold. At the moment we couldn't be happier.

The unit works well, just always on either off or high fan. It's working well and good for the used price

A/C had easy set up and was installed in under 20 minutes. It’s 95 degrees in Chicago today and I have this on low cool at a higher level and I’m so cozy and comfortable in my room. Would recommend to completely cool off a small room.

This thing worked well at first, but began acting up after a few months. After a lot of troubleshooting and keeping track, I discovered that the air conditioner will not engage the compressor if the outside air temperature is below 50 degrees F. I don't know if that's a design flaw or on purpose, but it's a complete failure for this type of appliance. I was using it to keep a computer server room cool, which can get hot even if the outside temperature is low. Not running because it's cold outside is a kind of failure on a whole new level of stupidity.

Was disappointed in the dimensions, it stated it was 13.25"W. I thought great that's 2" smaller than the width of my window and should fit perfectly, wrong! At it's widest point it's 15.25"W the same as my old air conditioner which didn't fit the window either. Other than that I have no Complaints it cooled down my room beautifully and in no time at all.

Unfortunately this guy didnt real do us any good. We run it on high with a massive fan in front of it to help it out. Its still a waste of money. Hasnt made a dent on the electric bill, which is great because it barely works. Even standing in front of it, on a 90 degree day, you barely feel anything. For example, it was 106 in New York (heat index), ac on high, 3 fans going, we all got heat sickness. Id return it but its so big and bulky that itd be a huge pain. Id avoid.

It works as advertised no complaints.

I don't know why there are as many bad reviews as there is, this thing works phenomenal for me. I have 4 rooms in direct sunlight for about 8 hours a day in the summer, with some shade, but it gets hot, 46 degrees C on any typical day, and on high it has all four rooms too cold to be in a t shirt and shorts when I get home from work. I get to sleep with blankets in summer and have my own oasis, only reason its not 5 star is because there's nothing mind-blowing, its a simple ac unit that works amazing!
