They Are River Rocks
These are river rocks. Shocker. How to describe? Well, the rocks were really clean. Really smooth and different colors. I can't give anymore information without being a geologist.I'm planning on using them for a fish tank but they can have other uses. Like a pond or to make plant pots look fancy when at base of plant.I will be buying again.

Happy fish, happy human!
Let's start with the cons since there's only one:These are river rocks. You can get them for free.PRO:- Beautiful addition to my tank- The fish love them- They are camoflauging my air stones without inhibiting the flow- Super easy to cleanA few notes:The standard 1-pound per gallon rule applies -> 1 pound of substrate per gallon of water (10 gallon tank = 10lbs of substrate)There are several ways of cleaning substrate - boiling, baking, or (as I did because they're big) the manual rock tumbler method:Put enough rocks at the bottom of a container to do a single layer, add enough hot water to cover them, close the lid, and "tumble" for 30 seconds or so, dump the water and repeat once. Add vinegar (I use about 1/4c per gallon) and soak. Then rinse in the same fashion, dump, refill and add a dechlorinator. Then put in the tank. It sounds like a lot, but it's less than an hour of work to do the whole bag.

Really nice stones
The size of the package was perfect for my 20 gallon high aquarium. Pretty good value for the price compared to what you pay at pet stores for that much gravel. The color is very nice and accurate to how the website shows it

Beautiful addition to the turtle tank
These rocks are beautiful, and just what the tank needed. I bought one bag for my 40 gallon tank. They sit loosely in a single layer. Make sure to soak or rinse them first. Placed them in a 5 gallon bucket and sprayed them down with a water hose. The water got pretty dirty and left a waxy ring around the bucket. Definitely happy with these rocks, and so is the turtle.

Nice Rocks but require some cleaning before going in aquarium
I really like these rocks. I used them in my aquarium. They are bigger (a mix of about 1inch to 2 inch) rocks. They do have a nice smooth polish to them. I would say they aren't true river rocks. I collect rocks and have some actual river rocks and these seem more like they came out of a rock tumbler than being smoothed by a river. I've done rock tumbling myself, so I'm pretty familiar with the process. If you take the time to feel the rocks they have a slick coating on them which is probably the polish from the tumbling process. If you are going to put these in an aquarium, they should be washed first to remove the wax coating. There are many ways to do this, but I like to use boiling water, white distilled vinegar, and motion to remove it. I did this in about 1/3 of the bag at a time to make it easier.Find something that can handle hot water and rocks. Put your rocks in there and add boiling water and vinegar. I like to let it sit for a few minutes. Then start agitating the rocks around. You might notice a waxy ring forming around the water line of the container. When the water starts to cool then rinse it a bunch. I had to do this a couple time per batch to get all the polish off.Although it took a little bit to get these rocks clean, I like them and would buy them again. However, if you are looking for something you can put straight into your tank, I wouldn't get these. I'm not sure if the coating would hurt your fish, but I'm personally not willing to take that chance.

Rocks are clean with a slight shine
I really like these rocks and plan to order more. I use them for plants that use just water and no dirt. When I use see through glass, the rock is beautiful to look at as well as the plant. I give these away as gifts. Everyone loves them.

My turtle loves them!
These were a great price and glad I bought them, my red eared slider has been loving and burrowing around in them. These did need to be washed and there is some sort of wax or polish layer on them. I couldn't see tell at first, but I used hot water and vinegar in a bucket as you always want to clean new things you are placing in your aquarium and was amazed how much dirt and debris came off in the bucket.

Beautiful larger gravel/rock.
Larger style rock. Looks beautiful in my tanks and makes it easy for guppy fry to hide. Really pleased with this purchase!

Beautiful
Loved them there beautiful but there was at least 12 broken rocks and it wasn’t quite enough for a 20 gallon tank. Looks great but I think in the future I will be switching to sand or soil it’s very hard for the bottom feeders and my snail to eat and move about.
