Well thought out design
This miter saw has several thoughtful features and is built sturdy. It has a Soft Start function so it doesn't trip your weak home breaker. The saw is powerful and large enough to cut through 4x4 material. The included blade is all-purpose, but the finishing cuts are not the best on wood (since it tends to drag out small fibers at the very edge of the cut). The angle adjustments have a solid click to them. The backing plate is square and sturdy. The clamp is perfect for more precise wood cuts. The saw head moves smoothly and without any catches. There is a small slot for the Alan Key wrench. The cable loops around in a particular place. Overall I was impressed with this design.

Great saw for doing all.
We are remolding and wanted miter saw that would do it all and this one does. First projects was steel gate for new wall around front house. Used 2x2 square tube 1/8 for gate frame. Combination blade did a great job on all cuts ( you just have to take your time on thicker wall steel) Have made all cuts and blade is still working fine. Saw is easy to adjust and cuts are turn right out of box. I will be buying a new Evolution metal blade and wood blade down the road. Would recommend this saw to friend and will be looking at more Evolution Power Tools as needed.

Everything it says it is and then some!
Great general purpose miter saw - works for trim and steel alike! Two things to keep in mind:1. Take it slow when cutting metal, you don't want to jam it down and have the teeth grab instead of cut. Best case you just stop the saw, but you can chip a tooth, or worst case it throws bits of the blade around.2. It's good practice with any saw, but make sure to clamp down you material, especially if it's metal. This saw is powerful and can throw small pieces way harder than you think... ask me how I know...

Pretty Good Saw
This is a nice saw that is perfect for the limited needs of a home owner. Just don’t set you expectations too high, at this price point its not going to match up with expensive pro saws that cost twice as much or more. It seems well made but the numerous plastic parts remind you that this is not a saw for professional daily or jobsite use. I was mainly interested in metal cutting but I bought this instead of the 14” chop saw figuring it would be more versatile and having used it for wood, aluminum and steel it is a capable multi material saw. The hold down clamp is just ok, you need to set it carefully and it could be more robust but I’ve been able to use some other clamps to assist for some cuts. If you set the saw it up correctly with a square when assembling the cuts are accurate. Out of the box the fence and blade needed adjustment but were pretty easy to square up. There are a number of useful YouTube setup videos if you’re not a fan of manuals. The laser needed adjustment too but I was only able to get it correctly lined up with the first few inches of the cut. Across the entire width of the maximum cut the laser line was off but with the saw square accuracy at the start of the cut worked fine for me. Unlike some reviewers I had no problem seeing the laser line even in daylight near my open garage door. I was able to make nice clean, square, accurate cuts with minimal burrs on metal unlike the abrasive wheel cutting I’ve used in the past. The saw does throw wood and metal chips liberally but mostly to the rear, like others I’d recommend good eye protection and long sleeves when cutting steel. For around $250 this seems like a good value.

Great saw
I’ve been using it to exclusively cut steel. Mostly 2x1 Rec tubing 11 gauge. I’ve got around 500 cuts with it so far with no issues. I have to keep buying blades, but the saw itself works great and saves me a lot of time

Solid saw.
Very solid saw, the blade that it came with will do just fine but if you cut metal a lot, upgrade to a metal cutting blade will make a huge different. My only complaint is the clamp could be better.

Great concept, questionable quality.
I do metal fabrication daily. I had the 14" Evo chop saw for years. Only had to replace one blade.( Someone tried to cut stainless ) 1000s of cuts no prob, even cutting 3" solid round bar.Next project had a lot of complex angles, so figured this would be ideal. Got the metal blade for it.10 cuts in it's having issues. Put. 3rd clamp on it. 5 more cuts and blade is toast. No biggie flukes happen. Order another and same thing within 20 cuts. ( 1.25 square tube .125 thick ). Call up Evo, they said it was bad clamping.Only fit so many clamps on this thing.I machined a aluminum guide rail to replace the cast flexy one it came with so you can really camp down and hold stuff. Order one more blade. And made it 25ish cuts. And I'm not just brute force trying to chop it like a tomato, I know how to work it to prevent this kind of thing. If they made this saw in the 14" size I'd buy it. The 10" blades are pure crap. And the laser lense is unless after 30 cuts. They did send me a replacement but still can't see the line.I did a unboxing on this for YouTube about 9 months ago. Coming up on the 1 year review.. not looking forward to it.
