Definitely a “comprehensive” guide.
Whether you are a beginner or advanced, you can get good information from here. I’ve been reading tarot for quite some time and decided to finally get into the astrological correspondences more in depth. This book helped do that and more! If you are finding mixed information online, this is your final stop. It’s a solid guide with well researched information written by a true expert.

Great introduction to the tarot
The author offers a good amount of information in a single book, from the history of the cards, to how to use them, what they mean, and many ways to spread them. I like that he offered multiple interpretations by different experts and a lot of detail for each one. I didn't read all of them because I still don't have a deck, so I'll wait until I have one to begin studying them. One thing that could be a negative point for some is that some of the more complex esoteric topics related to the tarot, like astrology, Kabbalah, numerology, etc., weren't discussed in depth. I understand that the author didn't want to spend too much time on them because this is an introductory book, but at some points they feel more like a distraction and would have been better to leave them out, imo. Nevertheless, in most instances the information, although superficial, provided an idea of the vast world that the cards live in, leaving the reader wanting to know more. The author provides a bunch of references in case someone wants to delve into the more complex topics at the end.Something that I didn't find particularly interesting were the examples of readings that he used. From all the stories, only 2 stood out for me, and served the purpose of why they were added in the text. It's not that the others were bad readings, but because the author didn't talk about the outcome of the reading in real life and all the examples were given before I knew any of the cards in detail, they added little value to the overall text. I didn't feel compelled or motivated to use tarot after reading most of them. If he didn't want to give details of the life of he clients he could have given more powerful personal experiences instead and that would have been more immersing. The Kindle format of the book is bad. Most tables look terrible and are hard to read, and the images are too small. If you want to use this book as reference, do yourself a favor and buy a physical copy.Still, I think it's a good book for beginners like me and serves as a good reference for the meaning of the cards.

Great reference guide to have on hand
I use this all the time. After looking up things online constantly I wanted something more concise I could trust. This didn't dissapoint. I will admit, there are a few things I looked up that aren't in the book but, I think maybe 9 of 10 are in here. So worth it.

Overall a great book if it wasn’t falling apart as I flipped through it
I really was looking forward to this book and when you look at the outside of the book it’s thick and exciting with The possibilities of all the knowledge inside. But as I open the book it literally fell apart. The pages are coming apart from the spine of the cover of the book. As I turn each page to look through the book it’s just falling apart. Information wise it’s absolutely wonderful but the quality of the book is less desirable and I’ll have to somehow place it in a binder so the pages aren’t lost. This really isn’t much of a big deal however if you pay for a product you should get the actual product in good shape.

Interesting and Informative!
With a historical background of the Tarot from gaming and eventual growth into divinitation this book gives the basic what is and how to examples for the beginner. Covers each of the tarot decks of Mathers, Waite, and Golden Dawn with descriptions of the major arcana, pip cards, and court cards. Briefly describes tarot in relation to number symbolism, astrology, the zodiac and the four elements. This book is 309 pages of useful information and very well made. Very happy with this book and will be buying other Llewellyn publications.

Good reference material
Good book for the beginner or intermediate tarot reader. Can easily pick this book up and feel comfortable with basic spreads and the interpretations of the cards. The images on the cards will vary with whatever deck you are using so those interpretations are up to the reader, but the basic concept of each card and it's meaning are somewhat standard.

Best tarot book ever?
This book is amazingly informative, very easy to use! Wasn't expecting it to be as good but I personally feel like this is one of the best tarot books i have purchased. Also if you are just starting out tarot this book would be all you need. It explains tarot, tells you about all the different set ups you can do, and of course gives you lots of information for each card. Really lovely book.

A perfect guide to tarot for beginners!
I am new to tarot and this book has really helped me to gain insight about the history and use of tarot. Most importantly though it provides detailed descriptions for every single card in an organized way.

My New Go-To Tarot Resource
I love a good tarot book, and, as such, you can imagine my excitement when I saw that Llewellyn’s Complete Book of Tarot, by Anthony Louis, was up for pre-order on Amazon!Needless to say, this book was in my cart and my order submitted before I even gave it a second thought. Now that it’s arrived and I’ve had some time to look it over, I have to say…it definitely was worth the hype! This book is a great resource for both beginners and seasoned tarot readers. The thing I like most about it is the fact that, for each card, a variety of interpretations from different tarot “authorities” are listed. It’s really interesting to see how some aspects of a card’s interpretation are the same across the board, and some are radically different. The book also gives various correspondences for each card, all organized by card, so it’s easy to find whatever you’re looking for.If you’re just starting out with the tarot, I would recommend this book as a good starting point. It’s a fairly large book, and may seem a bit overwhelming, but if you are able to process information and love a good resource that you’ll use long after you pass the beginner stage, this is the one for you.If you’re a seasoned reader, I would also recommend this book. It’s a well-written, interesting read, and I’ve found information in it that I didn’t know and that I’ve found very useful. Having the correspondences there is also nice.I see this book becoming my go-to tarot reference for most things, unless I’m looking for something related to a specific deck. Even then, depending on the deck, this book might be able to provide me with what I’m looking for.
