Great at doing its job but can be finicky to adhere to the trash can. I've had a couple of these and feel I've got how to properly adhere them down to a science.The first one worked perfectly with a flat manual garbage lid (e.g., one I had to open and close myself). This is probably because I never slammed or closed the lid hard.I purchased a new trash can with a pedal and another one of these to go along with it. (These seem to last how long the manufacturer claims, i.e., one year.) I found the flattest surface on the lid, cleaned it with alcohol, adhered the new deodorizer and waited a couple hours before using it. Then I realized I had "thrown it away" along with the garbage the first time I used it because it fell off as soon as I let go of the pedal. The trick then was to learn to slow release the pedal. I imagine this is why so many others are having difficulty with it.. I had to retrain how to let go of the garbage pedal to get this thing to stay on. It has stayed on ever since I learned this "trick". Obviously, though, this is difficult for kids, guests, etc., because they probably do not have your new "slow release" skill down.So summary tips for installing/adhering:-Ensure surface is flat-Clean surface with alcohol (or at least water) prior to adhering-When affixing it, wiggle it so as many velcro fibers attach as possible (ideally applying pressure on the outside of the container back)-Give it some time to adhere to be safe-If you have a pedal, learn to slow release the pedal!Four stars because the adhesion process can be tricky. Overall, I enjoy this product after I got the installation down to a science.

I love, love, love all of remodeez products and have them all over! The only reason I didn't give this trash can deodorizer 5 stars is because(like most of the reviews say) the glue struggles to stick. I'm a big fan of reviews and after reading them I decided to purchase anyway and give it a try since I know the product is at least awesome.TO GET YOUR REMODEEZ TO STICK to a trash can first off y'all need to make sure it's a clean and dry surface. Then you need to make sure you press super hard on the velcro FIRST and you'll kind of hear it pop& lock in place. Then you can stick it to the trash can. Can it be better? Of course! But its still pretty awesome.This also works really well in a pantry closet wall or a wall of a shoe closet! I bought 2 and have one on my trash can and one on my closet wall. Loving it!

I purchase two deodorizers and had very high hopes since this got such good reviews. I put one in a diaper pale and the other in our garbage can. Because they seem so heavy, and they only attach with a little piece of velcro, I was even going to put duck tape to help hold them in place. Unfortunately, I didn't and they fell off the first day they were put on. I was totally disappointed. We were able to find one and my husband put commercial velcro to hold it in place. I works great and really does eliminate odors, but will not stay attached without adding more velcro. They need to come up with a better attachment.

It is great for odor elimination in our kitchen trash. However, the adhesion did not last a week although I used degreaser and alcohol to first clean the lid. If it accidentally gets thrown away because it won’t adhere, then that makes it worthless. I then tried Command strips but they would not stick to it. Next I tried magnet strips because my trashcan is steel. The magnets work much better, although we have to be attentive because it still falls into the trash at least once a week.

We have been very happy with the shoe and refrigerator deodorizers so we tried the trash one. We stuck it to the door under our sink where we keep our trash and it has been very good at controlling odor. We did not have any issues with the adhesive - we just pushed it on firmly and held it for about 20 seconds.

I used to have a garbage smell no matter what i did now you need to have it open or be a few inches from the garbage to smell it that's so much better. I waited weeks just to make sure it worked well to.Update 3/24/20 the Velcro doesn't work anymore and the device fell into the garbage needs to have a stronger grip to the other Velcro.

I have a simple human trash can and this won't stay stuck to the lid. I cleaned the surface really well before sticking it on but every day I have to fish it out of the bottom of the trash. I also haven't noticed a difference in smell so it was a waste of money.

I gave up after one week.I put it on — it dropped down the trash bin. I wash it, dry it, put back — the same. I try to keep it in place — it’s back into the trash mess.I was so disappointed, that I left it there and threw away.
