I have an assortment of feeders in the garage, beautiful colored glass, and also standard plastic ones, all either leaked or warped. They also attracted bees and wasps like crazy!This is the 1st feeder I've used (so far) that hasn't leaked or allowed bees or wasps access to the nectar. Its been up a little over 2 weeks now and the hummingbirds really like it. The included ant guard works great as does adding a bit of water to the indent at the top of the feeder.We already have quite a few 'regulars' stopping by! :)

LOVE this little feeder. I got the recipe for nectar from the Smithsonian webpage ( 1 part sugar to 4 parts water- no cooking) and stirred to dissolve the sugar completely, then filled the feeder, put water in the little cup above to keep the ants out, and within minutes a hummingbird had come to feed! The only issue I have since I put it up - and I don't know what can be done, is that small wasps and yellow jackets are attracted to the feeder and manage to crawl through the feeding holes to the nectar and....go for a swim and eventually drown. So when you go to clean it out each time the nectar runs low, BE CAREFUL that when you dump it out in the sink to learn it that there are NO live wasps inside it ( I am allergic to wasp stings!). Each time I have taken apart the feeding tube base, I have found yellow jackets that are still alive inside. So just be careful when opening.

This is great for a feeder. It holds 2 cups of water, which means it needs 1/4-1/2 cup sugar for the right ratio. If you clean it every few days, this smaller volume means you aren't going through sugar like mad.It isn't very high-heat tolerant however. The cap on the reservoir came off on a super-warm day (100°+), so I had to use e6000 and some other epoxy to keep it in place. Watch your hands when cleaning it, too! The edges are sharp!It's good for what it is: affordable, low volume feeder.

This feeder is a functional feeder. Ant guard and bee guards definitely protect the feeder from insects. It's easy to take it apart for deep cleaning. It's nice that all the bee guards come off for cleaning. I struggled to detach the feeder from the ant guard for refilling so I flipped the attachment fook over. Now the feeder comes off so easily. Hummingbirds seem happy with fresh nectar in the clean feeder! If there is anyone who's struggling with the same problem I had, I recommend flipping the fook over (the open end of the fook connects to the roof of the feeder: the opposite direction from the product picture).

Pros- Very nice feeder and the ant cup does work. Easy to clean and it did attract humming birds within a couple days.Cons- If I had known the water needed changed every two days I would have never bought a feeder. I learned that it molds quickly and the mold can kill the humming birds. Now mine sits on the counter in my home. I don't have time or patience to change the water that often.

Have had the feeder fall from the holder, wasting the nectar. Friction fit leaves a bit of improvement.Update: received a replacement feeder from the retailer, apologizing for a defective product. The accompanying hand written letter was much more than I was expecting, as I had glued the faulty friction fit on the original feeder (which was my complaint). I have changed my review to 5 stars and would most assuredly buy from them again. They stand behind the products they sell. Bear in mind, I did not request a replacement, only identified a problem. After I applied glue to the area I believed to be faulty, I think the feeder will provide years of good service. At least my feathered friend enjoy it, now they will have two!

I purchased this hummingbird feeder because mine was being overtaken by ants and this one was supposed to prevent ants from getting in they still get in but not as bad as the other days. So I’m not completely happy with it
