I have a bunk bed that has at least a dozen wooden slats but no boxspring or plywood piece. Would it work for me?

This bedrail will only work "properly" for a bed with mattress and a boxspring. It will also work for any other bed like wooden beds but you wont be able to pull it down to the side of the bed. Just keep it upright all the time. The thing is the main frame of the bed on the side will prevent you from folding the bedrail down. If the wooden bed has slats, just tie the two supporting part of the bedframe to two corresponding slats, You may use a packaging tape to tape it in place.

Will this work on a mattress which i placed directly on the floor without box spring?

No. The rail is held in place by a strap that goes under the mattress. at the end is a piece of plastic that forms a T with the strap. In other words, part of the plastic sticks up, and part sticks down. this keeps the rail from slipping. If you put the mattress on the floor, the "T" wouldn't be in a proper position and wouldn't hold it. I think you're going to need a box spring for it to work properly.

Has anyone actually used this on a king sized bed and can confirm it works without issue and is secure?

Hi, yes I have a king size bed & it works fine & there are no issues with this. The rail is actually too short & doesn't cover both ends . Just as the picture shows, the corners aren't covered.

Does the rail swing down to be flat against the base of the bed? The photo makes it appear as though it swings down, but may rest at an angle. Thanks!

The first response is correct, if the boxspring and frame are high enough off the ground the rail will swing down and lay flat. Just installed my sons this week and the bed and frame are super high so it lays flat w/ no issues. For reference the TOP of my box spring is 21in off the floor, this leaves a 2in gap between the floor and the rail when it is in the down position.

Total waste of money

Total waste of money. It works only on flat form bed or box spring bed. Its expensive and don't serve it purpose properly .not very study too.don't buy it

Love it!

I was always so scared my daughter would fall off the bed — this definitely came in handy!! I read some reviews before buying and I’m glad I didn’t listen to the negative reviews. I’ll speak on what I was looking for in a bed guard.. I was looking for one suitable for a king size bed - worried about the height difference. Turns out it’s perfect! It doesn’t FIT all the way to the other size of the bed but my bed is on slats so the rails fit nicely in between and the weight of the bed kept it firmly in place. DO NOT RECOMMEND for kind beds without slats. Love the fact that I can transfer it to her own bed and it fits just as nicely (twin bed) Great buy and definitely recommend
