Very well thought out product
Someone actually thought this out. It really comes with everything that you need for dust collection in a small wood shop except for flex hose that was $34 for a 20 ft length. Nice internally smooth fittings and clear pipe to see clogs. Simple, effective gates to control suction. I thought this might be junk when I ordered it, but it isn't. I ran it above my 5 machines with flex drops to each and it was stupidly simple to do. I have a 3hp dust collector but a good shop vac might be enough if emptied often enough. Essentially a couple dollars for each part, but everything works together. Given how most kits are junk, this isn't.

works fine but a little difficult to work with.
Just completed an installation hooking up a Ridgid Table saw, Ridgid Sliding Miter Saw, Wen Planer, Bosch Router Table, and Ryobi Sander to a Jet 1 ½ HP Vortex Dust Collector. I agree with one of the other reviewers that this is a poorly designed system in that you need a connector at every junction rather than having fitting like plumbing PVC where the pipes go into the fittings but this is the same with every other system I looked at. After a lot of aggravation, the system is completed and working fine. Some of the problems I found:1. The couplings are VERY tight and hard to connect the fittings to the pipe especially the blast gates2. The illustration shows that the first fitting that connects to the dust collector is a 90 elbow . DO NOT USE THE 2 90 ELBOWS THAT ARE INCLUDED IN THE KIT. It also shows that the Y Connector for each machine is lower than the main pipe. I followed the illustration and it worked fine when I was using a tool that created mainly saw dust but the first time I used the Planer, the larger shavings got clogged up at the 90 and the shavings that backed up dropped down into the Y connectors in the other hook ups between the planer and the 90 degree fitting. I had to take the 90 off and replace it with 2 45’s and Turned the Y fitting pointing up to prevent clogging and it seems to works fine. I don’t know why they even included 2 90’s because they are useless because the inside demention of the 90 gets smaller at the bend where the 2 45;s stays the same.3. I bought the Powertec Anti Static Flexible PVC Dust Collection Hose to connect to each tool . It was considerably more expensive than the standard hose are more difficult to connect to the fittings and the machine. If I had to do it again I would just buy the standard hose which works just fine. Conclusion: This is the cheapest way to get the system up. Most of the other kits from other vendors may appear to be cheaper, but they don’t include the pipe. Each 3’ piece of clear pipe cost around $10.00 so the pipe included in this set is worth $80 alone. Extra blast gates and Y connectors are around $8 each so it’s simple …Do the math. Im happy with my setup and would recommend this for small shops.

Great set to set up dust collector
I read a lot of complaints about the elbows etc on amazon but I found the parts fit together just fine and stayed together. If anything sometimes they are hard to separate which is fine with me, because I have them permanently mounted under my work bench. I have the ports coming out and just used plumbers tape to suspend the pipe between the studs of the bench. Worked out well. This set is a lot cheaper than buying each part individually even if you don't use it all. I think I bought two of these all said and done and connected to my WEN dust collector.

USE A HAIR DRYER OR HEAT GUN TO WARM THE 2 1/2 HOSE AND IT WILL SLIDE RIGHT ON.
I was literally packing up the box to return this kit when I read that in desperation someone heated the hose up a little and it slid right on the fittings. WHY IN THE WORLD WON'T POWERTEC SUGGEST THIS. This would have been a 1 star rating if someone had not figured it out and put it in the comments

Could use some improvements
I purchased this kit to run dust collection through my basement woodshop. It's a great value with all of the pieces included with a few caveats. As many others have pointed out, the elbow pieces are worthless. As soon as I saw them, I knew I wouldn't be using them, which meant buying additional 45s. My other issue was with the Y pieces, they don't connect tightly at all and fall right back out, which meant they all had to be taped which I wasn't thrilled with, but what else can you do? The tubes themself lock very tightly into the connecting pieces, it's just anything involving those Y's. The Y's and the elbows could be greatly improved.

Avoid the 90-degree elbows
As several others have noted, the 90-degree elbows are poorly designed with a massive amount of solid plastic inside the bend. This creates a choke point that is only 1-1/2", pretty much ruining the airflow at that point -- might as well be using 1-1/2" pipe and fittings throughout if you use these. With a little effort the plastic CAN be ground out with a spindle sander or rotary tool outfitted with a sanding drum, but they should have been properly made to begin with. That said, the rest of the kit is very good, and a true bargain if you were to price and buy all the included components individually. Even deleting the two 90-degree bends from the package, it's still a workable and useful addition to a dust collection system for connection directly to machines with 2-1/2" ports.

This is the way to go if you are going Powertec
I purchased a dust collection unit at Harbor freight, and then began to piece my piping together which became very costly quickly. Buying this gives you way more parts and pieces for the money. Wish I had started here. If you are installing a dust collection system you need one of these.
