Do you put this on a new paddle, or wait till it starts to lose its grip and then apply? Does it leave any residue on handle after you remove it?

It is recommended to the overgrips on a new paddle or racquet as they do not come with overgrips on them, it only comes with the replacement grip (or base grip) on the handles. It will not leave any residue as there is no glue or adhesive to make it stick, it will just need to be apply properly for it to stick properly. We hope this helps!

which side of the tape should be facing outside?

The directions tell you what side to start the winding process starting at the end of the handle. As that side got dirty from playing in the heat of summer, I removed it and got twice as much play out of the tape by simply reversing the tape so the clean side was outside. Easy fix, to get more playing time out of one piece.

Is this the same grip as the "mega tac" tourna grip? doesn't say mega tac so wanted to be sure. thx

I cannot state with 100% accuracy, but from what I can tell after using the Tourna Grip Overgrip, it is designed for pickleball paddles or small type paddles; whereas the Tourna Mega Tac Grip Overgrip is somewhat longer and appears to be designed for tennis racquets and other larger type paddles. I have used the Tourna Grip Overgrip for pickleball paddles, and I am very pleased with the product for my pickleball paddle. I would recommend that product for pickleball paddles. Sorry, I cannot say any more about the Mega Tac as I have not used the product by that name.

How long will each grip last?

I believe this would depend on how many times you play and how long you play. I play about 12 hours per week and my first grip has lasted 2 weeks so far.
