Decent kids tablet
Update: Started glitching like crazy right before our return window closed. Unfortunately, we returned it. Prior to the Leap Pad, we had a kids kindle 7. Compared the kindle, the Leap Pad has way more parental controls. This is a plus for me. The kids kindle unlimited content was showing my kid all kinds of stuff despite me explicitly blocking certain key words. The Leap Pad will allow your child to use Leap Search which connects to the internet. You can pre approve websites in the parental controls and even block certain areas of a website. I approved Outschool, PBS Kids, Lalilo, Explorify, etc. If you approve Outschool you also have to approve Zoom and log in. The only downside of the leap pad is that you cannot add “normal” apps. You can only buy apps through the Leap Frog store. They are priced similarly to what a game cartridge would be for the old Leapsters. You can also buy shows like Octonauts and RescueBots for the about the same price as a DVD. Or you can pre approve Netflix on Leap Search. The stylus on this is awesome when playing games, especially Leap Frog Academy. (The LF Academy is similar to ABC Mouse, it is not the equivalent of Amazon Kids Unlimited.) The built in stand is a bonus. The battery is garbage, it lasts about an hour fully charged. Bottom line, if you’re looking for an inexpensive kids tablet that’s easy to lock down, this is it. Screen quality/graphics are actually clearer than the kindle 7.

Perfect Educational Toy!
My 4 yo granddaughter was over the moon when she opened her Christmas gift! She loves playing with and learning from it!

Best Educational Gift
My daughter loves it so much, it helps with entertaining her at Dr's. Appointment or just a quick store run. It's been very inspiring to her, she's been singing along with the alphabet songs it provides. If she forgets it on its glitches and freezes but thankfully the manual came with information when that happens. It has a reset button for when it freezes. It was easy to set up. I love the color. And the sound is very good for a child's tablet.

AN ABSOLUTE HIT !!!
I bought this as a Christmas gift for my grandson who is 3. It was an absolute hit!!! He is advanced for his age at least I think ( he knows his numbers by looking at them and saying them, colors and has begun practicing writing his letters ) he spent hours on this and calls it his iPad. I would highly recommend this for any kid to get them ready for school!!

Horrible durability
The product itself was great and my granddaughter loved it. The durability is awful. I bought her one for Christmas. She did accidentally step on it and cracked the screen. Nothing would work after that. This was her fault and she loved it, so I went ahead and purchased another. She was playing with it on the couch and it fell on the carpeted floor. The screen again cracked in the left corner. The whole top half of the screen no longer works. So it is useless to her. It is made for young children it should definitely hold up much better than this. So in 2 leappads in 2 months. Definitely a waste of money for us. (I did also purchase a screen protector for the 2nd one but definitely did not make a difference)

Educational, fun, expensive, cheap device, get warranty
I had it for over a year now and it has pros and cons. The device itself is cheap, I had to return the first one because it quickly had issues with charger port. I was gracious for amazon replacing it so I got the warranty for the second one, which I recommend because I had to exchange it again because it just suddenly would not hold a charge. Also it will freeze semi frequently, kids always panic lol. So far a restart fixes it. Positives is that the kids really love the games they are expensive, and almost no games are included with set up. The cheapest games are 10$ and go to 25$ and they offer bundles of like 4 games for 20-30$ but never the good games are included. They have sales on major holidays so that helps save money. The device and its games really are fun and educational. They make learning easy and fun, it's a great way to distract you kids and know the content is safe. I dislike that leap pad pushes the heck out of there popular games with ads so kids are never content and always wanting more more more... I also dislike that the main learning game ''Academy'' is a yearly subscription on 40.$$$ which I bought for my 3 and 4 year old and they almost never used. Now it's expired they are 4 and 5 now and love it. I DO like that you can use the academy game on your cell phone as well as the device and it syncs your progress. I really dislike that it requires sooooo much money to get a good group of games. The description of the games on the web page are terrible and there are no refunds if you download a game you don't like. I wanted to give 3 stars because the device is cheap, I got over 200$ invested in just games and then it stops working... exhausting and disappointing. I gave it 4 stars because the kids really love it and DO get a lot out of it. I recommend buying the warranty!

Leaning made fun
My grandson loves his tablet and is excited to lean

It is nice that the tablet has limited access so the kids cannot access internet (unless approved by parents) websites or install the programs themselves. The tablet survived several drops and works fine. Looks rigid. There are some games pre-installed but not many. The biggest disadvantage: apps are pretty expensive and are limited in number. What I am afraid of that LeapFrog can stop supporting for the tablet and you will not be able to install new apps.

Den här måste varit begagnad eftersom användare redan fanns och med ett parent lock code som vi inte registrerat. Dålig stil att sälja dyra saker som redan använts.

Overpriced tablet with very limited free content. Kids are constantly given demos, then asked to pay to unlock full apps.

Battery isn’t lasting longer than 1 hour and needs to be charged for over 12 hours to provide that 1 hour of charge. Very disappointed
