Good for the moon and decent for planets.
Very nice, easy to use. Great for the moon, and you can get a decent view of Jupiter (without detail) and its 4 large moons. I managed to see the rings of saturn as well.

The phone holder is garbage. At least for every phone I have tried
The phone holder is garbage. At least for every phone I have tried. the different contact points to hold it steady mash buttons on the sides, top, and bottom. Many phones with cases are just to big to hold steadily or remain securely affixed to the eyepiece. The telescope itself is fantastic. Easy to just open up and use. Takes a while to get the hang of sighting objects and areas if you have nevr done it before. A great starter for my 6 year old and I.

Love mine.
I love my telescope. I went and bought a red dot finder for mine and cut out a piece of black acrylic to mount the red dot on and then I cut a round hole the size of the mount where the tube is mounted to the black section. Then I drilled a very small hole through the side into the circle so that I could use a screw to tighten it down after I lined up the red dot scope perfectly. I liked the way I did it because it didn't damage the optical tube assembly like a lot of similar telescopes do. The one thing I didn't like about this telescope is the metal threaded section of the eyepieces aren't threaded for the commonly available eyepieces but I could be wrong. Either the eyepiece threads are wrong or the Barlow lens I bought separately has the wrong size threads. Not sure which. The blue paint on this telescope really pops out and I think it's nice enough to leave out in the open on a desk or shelve. People notice it and compliment it. The smartphone holder takes a little getting used to but it mostly comes down to which model phone you use and how the eyepiece is shaped. Basically you want the camera holder to hold the phone as square to telescope eyepiece as possible and the camera as perfectly centered on the eyepiece as possible. Bring a small, dim flashlight to help because attempting to do this the first time in the dark isn't easy and make sure you turn your phones screen so that it doesn't turn off. I even set my phone to take pictures when it heard my voice command that way you don't jiggle the camera right when it's taking the picture. Once is it is mounted it's pretty cool though. It's a lot easier to show people what you're looking at with this adapter because usually when someone wants to see the first thing they do is grab the eyepiece and accidently move it off the target and then wonder why they can't see anything. Carson has awesome customer service too. If you need any assistance setting it up don't be hesitant to contact them and ask. They're more than helpful. Atleast for me anyways. Is this a powerful telescope? No. Is this telescope convenient and easy to use? Very much so. You'd be suprised how much I use this telescope more than my larger more powerful scope just because it's convenient and easy to use.
