Guardian Gear X-Fine Gold Snake-Chain Dog Collar, 20"

It is a really pretty little chain that is sturdy enough for my 45 lb dog. It came recommended by my dog's trainer. The last one I purchased had o-rings on the ends that were a bit bigger and I liked that better because it meant that the collar would self-adjust to loose unless my dog pulled. (the smaller o-rings are what lose a star for this product review.) With these smaller o-rings, it took a while to get used to how to hold the lease so that the collar doesn't cinch up. Now, it's no problem. I would NOT recommend this for a dog that pulls... I think it would really be awful for them. For my dog who just needs an occasional light "check," it is great. It also looks very pretty on her. (Since this time the collar came with no instructions, I feel the need to make a disclaimer: as with any chain like this, please make sure that you are putting it on your dog the right way-- so that it is loose unless your dog pulls-- and please remember to take it off your dog when your dog is not on his or her leash.)

It would be helpful if, when ordering from your company, it would be clearly stated that the measurement quoted is from the outside edge of each ring and not from each end of the chain. Example: I ordered a 22" chain collar but it is actually a 20" chain plus two 1" loops one on each end in order to form the "slip or choke collar". The 4mm show snake chain collar works beautifully with my puppy Rottweiler and holds him securely when on lead. I just wish you would make it clearer how you acquire the measurements....I have ordered from you before so I was aware but new customers (and you might have more) do not know how you measure the collars and will be disappointed if their collar is two inches shorter than expected.

Gorgeous and it does what it's meant to do.It is NOT meant to hold back a dog, and I'm not sure why anyone would think an "Extra Fine snake chain" would be strong against a dog that pulls! Good for conformation shows or dogs that are trained reliable enough to be off-leash. For a dog that needs training, use a thicker chain or work with a trainer

During the last 20 years I have put gold chains on the cocker spaniels I have had, and each dog has worn them at least 3 to 4 years before the gold plate began to wear away. I purchased two of these in February for my present cockers and it is now the first week of October. All the gold plating is gone. DO NOT but this junk. A waste of money!!

I Love this bling-bling for my whippet Chance ;)He has multiple collars so I use this as an ID tag and St. Francis medal holder only, not for a lead or show use.He looks great in it, ans so far ( a few weeks including rainy weather) the gold still looks great! I will attach a picture of him soon so you can see how well it is holding up.

This is very pretty and looks great on my pom - she doesn't like it very much so I have to watch her to be sure she doesn't get it off. Hopefully she will accept it in time because I put her name tag on it in case she accidentally gets away from me.. She is micro chipped but for a quicker rescue, I wanted her name and my number so that it could be found right away.

Just like the expensive ones purchased at dog shows. Very thin, lightweight and attractive. Lovely gold color. Good functional show collar for purposes in which you really want your canine pal to "shine!" Maybe not the ideal walking collar as it is a choke collar unless you have a very well trained dog that won't pull against it.

I got this collar because my beagle is going to be used in 4H show class. Very lightweight, and awesome gold finish. I got the 18" collar because the 16" was wayyyy to small for her. Make sure to measure right and add a couple inches.*note that this collar is not for day to day use, its for short term use like shows, will not handle a dog that is not trained.Very happy with this collar!
