Pillbug for Hive Carbon
This is the third expansion piece for Hive Carbon. This playing piece is of the same high quality as the other Hive Carbon pieces.This is written assuming you already know the base rules. The Pillbug can move one space like the Bee, or, it can use it's special ability. The special ability is two move an adjacent piece, friendly or opponent, two spaces, one on top of the Pillbug, and then to an adjacent empty space, provided you do not break the hive or free movement rule.This definitely adds more challenge to what is already an interesting game.

Love it!
Wonderful addition to the game. Makes the game last longer, and adds a whole new strategy! I love being like, "Oh, no! My queen is almost stuck... psych!" then pulling my queen to safety. Or by secretly building a circle near the Pillbug then picking up and placing the opponents queen into it and winning when they thought they were free. Great product!

A must have addition to the Hive game.
This simple little bug adds a whole new dimension to the Hive game. Its movement pattern is great to pair up with others in the game in a defensive or offensive role. I would recommend this to anyone who has Hive. If you don't have Hive, go buy it now. For such a simple appearing game it can be quite a challenge yet still easy to learn. It is all skill and strategy based with no luck of the draw involved, kind of like Chess without the limits of a board.

Increase the difficulty
The pillbug is a fantastic addition to the game. My husband and I like to make the game a little more difficult. With the exception of the queen, turn all of your pieces up-side-down. Whatever piece you unknowingly pick up is the piece you have to work with on your move. Makes the game a little more complex.

These expansions are not cheap for the material worth.They are however worth the money in my opinion as the game is so amazing in both its simplicity and complexity.

I got these as a gift for my best friend, who bought the game recently. He loves this game, and says these little pieces add a lot to the game. The game is similar to "Set," so if that's your kind of game, Hive (which this is NOT a listing for) is a game you should consider, and this expansion (this listing) is worth the couple bucks.
