This is the best edging available, I think
I looked at quite a few other edging materials at Home Depot and Lowes, and picked this one (at Home Depot for my first 60', and then ordered six more 60' packages from Amazon much cheaper). This edging is tall, thick, and tough. The included "joiners" work well too ... you can hardly detect seams between pieces. I did NOT use the recommended (purchased separately) steel spikes (just dug a trench and laid the edging in, secured with dirt) and it seems to be staying put just fine after a few weeks ... tho' time will tell. Note: installed in Florida, so no worry about frost ground heave ... you might consider the optional spikes where frost is a possibility. One very SMALL nit: the packaging shown in the Amazon product illustration is exactly as it was purchased at Home Depot, but when received from Amazon, four of the 60-foot pieces came in different "purple" packaging, and two of the 60-foot pieces were just rolled up in an Amazon box with no manufacturer packaging at all ... and with none of the edge connectors. I didn't NEED any more edge connectors 'coz the other four boxes supplied plenty.

Edgy
this was placed along our driveway to prevent mulch from being washed away from pool backwashing and torrential rains. installed easily just as described. make sure to let it rest in the sun for easier application and "get the bends out". no stakes were used as the backfill is holding it where needed. maybe stakes would be needed if the soil is not as thick as where this was placed, lots of clay. the area looks better and it is keeping the water from washing away the landscape mulch

So much EASIER than retail edging.
This far surpasses the edging available in home improvement stores. I live in central Florida so do not need to worry about ground freeze. Allow the edging to relax in the sun. I used a sharp bladed shovel to begin the trench in damp earth. I then went over it with a flat blade shovel, rocking it forward and backward to widen the trench making sure that it is deep enough to accommodate the edging. Placed the edging in the trench and pounded it in with a mallet (the edging is substantial enough to not bend). Back fill with dirt. Because most of this was straight edging I did not need to use stakes.

Very strong edging that works.
Excellent, high quality, edging that should last many years even in our Florida sun.

1) Very Durable and sturdy 2) Aesthetically ok 3) Pretty easy to install Cons
Pros:1) Very Durable and sturdy2) Aesthetically ok3) Pretty easy to installCons:1) Difficult to cutInstallation tips:1) Manufacturer directions recommend a 4 inch deep trench, but a 3 inch deep trench will suffice too.2) Out of the box, the edging is very rigid and difficult to work with. To soften the edging unbox the edging and connectors and unroll them and let them sit in the intense sun for a few hours.3) The manufacturer recommends nailing the spike in at 45 degrees, but I find a sharper angle avoids hammering underlying the PVC sprinkler system.4) Make sure you've got most of the rocks of the trench.5) It's very important that one backfills the edging to make a flat surface before hammering the stank in.Overall I would definitely buy this product again if I needed to install edging.
