Good Stuff
This drain cleaner works great! We have some hinky drain line on our kitchen sink that would get plugged and require a clean out at least once a year, a dirty, stinky, laborious task. My wife has used the Drain Defense weekly, we now go about three years between drain line clean outs, that works for me. We did get a quote to fix the drain line, I can buy an lot of Drain Defense for that $5000.

It does work but you may have to add double to what the instructions say
I bought this product (2 Bottles) and at first it did not open the drain for several months. It was a slowdraining. But I did not give up and now after many tries, it works fine. Sorry I gave it a poor score, butI used twice as much and let it set overnight and it finally took down the blockage.

Great product that actually works.
I love this stuff! Our plumbing company recommended that we get an enzyme product to help break down the gunk in our pipes. I didn't want to do the whole house at one time due to worrying that it would break free to much yuck and end up clogging things. I took the approach to do one drain per week starting the closest to our grinder pump. I would treat that drain 3 days in a row and then switch to the next drain in line the next week. This took a little over a month to complete but I can say I noticed a huge difference in the bathroom drains. I could actually hear the water flowing freely down the drain. Sadly we had a sagging main drain line that needed to be replaced. In replacing that it replaced over 3/4 of our drain line which was where our gunk problems mainly were. Our plumbers recommend that I keep using whatever enzyme product I was using as it seemed to have been breaking stuff down but due to the sagging issue it would never have fully left the plumbing system. I will continue to use this product since I know it works and it's easy on the wallet. Plus it's very easy to use, smells nice, and is quick to treat a drain before I leave for work.

Neighborhood issue...
I live in an old neighborhood and plumbing/sewer is always a challenge. I was told a long, long time ago to use this product, and it will Protect your pipes from corrosion. It's simple, and as far as I'm concerned. It works.

Using this for 10 Years
Ten years ago, I had a stopped-up drain and had to call Rotor Rooter. After being ripped off for a drain camera, they opened the drain and then sold me on this Drain Maintenance liquid. I paid $270 for this stuff they put down the drain. I was happy because there was no backup into the tubs, etc. Before they left, I saw the plastic container they threw away in the trash. It was a commercial 5-gallon container. I took a picture of it and then searched the internet to find it so I didn't have to spend $270. To my surprise, I found that they had charged me ten times the cost. I learned two important factors about this. First, I no longer put garbage down the drain, especially oil and potato peelings. Second, I purchase and use this Zep twice yearly to keep my drains fresh and clear.

Works on everything if used in main drain
So I had an upstairs toilet issue. When using the shower or the 2 sinks in the main bath, the toilet will make a gargle noise, backup but not over flow, and the water in the toilet will be up to the rim for almost 5 hours before it flushed. Even if I flush the toilet, the same would happen. After reading reviews and leaning on my understanding of chemistry and cooking. I realized that the main drain in my townhome ran through my upstairs shower. So I removed the shower drain cover and poured the entire bottle of Zep down the drain. I waited 5 hours. Mostly because I had others things to do.I then heated water in a midsize pot until it started to boil. Once it began to boil I left the cover on the pot but let it sit with the heat off. I then (with oven gloves) carried the cover pot to the bathroom and slowly poured the hot water down the shower. I waited ...some odd hours later I heard something like a demon from h*ll coming from my upstairs bathroom. I don't know why I ran towards it. Every black person knows to run in the opposite direction in scary movies. But I ran to the noise. When I arrived the floor of my shower was covered in what I thought was BM but later realized it was mud/ dirt and Lord knows what ever. There was no odor. I then tested the toilet because I noticed it was back at normal level in the bowl. The toilet flushed with gusto and didn't make a noise or back up when using the sinks or shower.I then used a half of gallon of Clorox to clean my shower with a long arm brush & sponge.Total resolve time : 12-16 hours
