Pros - they work and dog loves them. Easy to clean, fold and store.Cons - don't last long, have had two mates now and both have ripped within 12months. My dog is not a massive dog (30kg Lab) but once the matt is torn it leak contents and stains matt brown.

Bought this for our standard sized labradoodle during the heatwave. We've had cool mats before which she's always managed to put her claws through, and sadly this one was no different with her managing to pierce it within a few hours. However, as it is made up of 6 larger squares, individually sealed with it's own gel, we were able to cut off the 2 damaged squares, leaving four intact! Obviously it's smaller, but it still serves it's purpose. The size (originally!) was absolutely perfect and she was able to lie down completely on it, so if you looking for one to fit a larger dog, this would do it! The coolness works well, and it folds up in a square size for storage. I have to admit to also using it during the very warm nights putting it on the bed so my legs from the knees down where resting on it! This worked very well and was very cooling, so it's not just for use by pets!

My dog has been through many of these kind of mats and I will say this one has lasted the longest. This is also the biggest mat I’ve found and fits by dog on it fine (Rottweiler) but after a month or two it did start leaking as his claws have made holes all over the mat. His claws aren’t sharp or long at all but they have destroyed every mat he’s ever had, however he does use it every single night to sleep on. I’ve managed to patch up the holes with a quick blob of super glue so that does the trick! Will most likely buy again when this mat is done for.

I personally cannot comment on the comfort however the dog seems to think its good. Though still not as cool as the laminate which she prefers. Is good for the car though.

This is our third cool mat - all in use in different places. Our dog loves them - spent most of summer on one. One of them bought last year has a leak due To claw scratch - patched with tape and fine. We know other dogs who do not take to them. Ultimate cooling tip when over 30 degrees - floor level fan, bags of ice in front and a cool mat.

Keeps my dog cool for 10mins and than you need to move dog. But needs to be flipped over to be cool again.Easily marked, hard to get marks off.Dog paws pierced holes in two of the squares

I do not usually write reviews but feel the need to let everyone know that this is a great product in theory as it works to cool your pet from the heat. But after only two weeks use it has sprung several leaks… And therefore I’m on able to use it for my dog as I’m worried about the contents being dangerous for the dog. Shame because she really liked it and I’m not sure whether to replace it or not now as it didn’t last long at all. I have a chocolate LabradorWho is very laid-back and not destructive in anyway so the wearing tear on his mat was very quick. For light use. I would’ve hoped for better quality for the price.

Bought this for my golden retriever not really knowing whether it would be the right size or if she would like it or if she would do what Goldie's always do ie chew things. But it's been perfect for her. I used it every day in the recent hot weather and she went straight on it each time I put it out on either the grass or patio. I put my feet on it and it really did feel cool. However, when I was telling other dog owners about how good we had found it, a few of them had found their dogs had chewed theirs and the liquid gel had come out. But for us, it's excellent.
