We like this taller Tilley, with the additional vented area allowing a breeze to blow across the old bonce. Only time will tell if it is as robust as my other (standard/lower Tilley 'at, with wider brim), which has lasted around the world for years. I am also currently working on a paracord replacement for the "bootlace" chin-strap arrangement, where my version will look like a proper hatband, stay in place, yet allow an extra section to swing down from inside the 'at and provide an adjustable chin-strap, when windy conditions are experienced. When this minor modification is finally installed, we will expect Tilley to finance a quick trip to Hong Kong, during Typhoon season, to check out the security of such a strap in a Signal No. 8 or 10.... Finally, the ONLY reason for NOT awarding a well-earned 5 stars is because the cheapskate accountants at Tilley in Canadia have decided to penny-pinch by NOT including the original "Please return to..." Note, in the original, sturdy ziploc bag, which lived in the "secret pocket" in the crown of my old 'at - with a folded USD $50 bill as reward and incentive to return one's 'at if lost. Note: other currencies are available to suit local requirements...

Excellent product this is the second one I’ve purchased as my husband lost the other while out bird watching. He wears it summer and winter and does a great job in any season. Stylish and expensive looking should last for years

I Had a cheap version of this type of hat for many ears, it was always too tight, it had gel in the brim which you could swell by dunking it, it was tighter still, there was no style to it, it was just a round green hat.I had been looking for a better hat for a while and using baseball caps which I find too hot for me not being used to wearing a hat, but need to now in the sun!I spent a little time measuring to try to get the size right I ordered and have to say I got it spot on.The fit is very good so measure your head, this hat is very light, when you put it on, you hardly know its there.It has the tilley quality feel but a quality feel anyhow, as mentioned in the manual you need to be able to get 2 fingers between the brim and your head.I did not get a manual but available online, you also need to register it for warranty.There is a nice style to this hat a slightly narrow side and larger rear brim adds to the quality of this hat, very expensive, but, very nice hat.

I've reached the age where I'm difficult to buy for at birthdays but my partner still stresses what to get me. So I splashed out on a Tilley, ok, bit of a brand thing but I'd wanted one in a while because they are easy to carry and pretty tough so can cope with the chaos that is my bag. Really pleased with the hat, exceeded expectations to be honest. It's very comfortable, I know, hats are not unusually uncomfortable but this one is so much nicer to wear than my old generic M&S sunhat. It doesn't blow off my head easily too, plus point when dog walking. Provides great shade, cooling and squishes into a bag only to come out completely wearable. I'm after getting a winter one now, have to sneak that one out of the account mind you.
