North Deluxe Bump Cap - RedWell, I suppose my reason for getting this bump cap is for comfort and safety. When I'm mowing my lawn on my lawn tractor, I wear a High-Viz Orange safety vest to be more visible. When I'm mowing the lawn, the vest makes me more visible when I'm mow along the street. And, if I'm not mowing along the street, the vest makes me more visible and easier to find should I become injured and need assistance.When I mow the perimeter of the lawn, I often find myself plowing through brush and low hanging branches to cut the grass that's growing underneath. So, my head is being buffeted by all this overgrowth. I have never been injured beyond some scratches, but it is annoying and the risk for greater injury is there.I have some construction style hard hats, but they seemed too heavy and bulky for riding around on a tiny lawn tractor. Pretentious, even. I'd been thinking of a bump cap for some time. A bump cap does not offer the same protection as a hard hat. But, I wasn't expecting concrete chunks to be falling from above, as I might on a construction site. And I wasn't going to working around heavy machinery, that can pack a wallop if you are in the wrong place at the wrong time.So, I finally decided to stop thinking about getting a bump cap and just going ahead and getting one. The description for this North Deluxe Bump Cap indicated that this cap would suit my purposes and the price was right. I chose the red color because it would look best with my Hi-Viz Orange safety vest. (I prefer Hi-Viz Orange to Hi-Viz Green because I *strongly* believe that Hi-Viz Orange is actually more Hi-Viz than Hi-Viz Green.)I ordered the cap from Amazon and it arrived in the timely fashion that I've come to expect from most Amazon deliveries. I've used the cap a couple of times and it suits my needs, as expected. I would recommend this cap for light-duty protection from hazards that might be encountered around work or home that wouldn't require more robust protection.This cap does not come with a chin-strap and it does not have the attachment points that a hard hat does to attach one. So, this might be something to consider if you are going to be using the cap in a windy environment.
