TED Direct-Fit Catalytic Converter Fits: 2008-2009 Suzuki SX4 2.0L

Did have to replace the second gasket and spring bolt kit (corroded) on the short pipe downstream from the cat converter.

The part fitted good, and is working, to this date, as needed.

2008 SX4. The cat looks to be a good part for the price. The factory heat shields were engineered for a reason and should be used but will not work with this cat. I did not install the part because of this but will keep incase I need to replace the OE. My original cat was not broke inside but throwing a code. I remove the cat and filled with water and detergents and set over night. Flushed and reinstalled, no code so far. If I need to use this cat I will weld on attachment point for upper shield and modify or custom build a shield for the lower. The price of a OE cat is half the value of the car so that won't happen. Other a/m cats come with one heat shield at the cat at double or triple the price. I think the SX4 is a great car, I purchased for a adventure vehicle because of the drive options 4x4, AWD, 2wd. Not my daily driver. Bad valve seals and 160K miles is what caused the cat problem. If lucky the cleaning may save for a while, worth a try.

Looked good in the pics. Not so great once I started installing. It’s missing the welded mount tab for the factory heat shield behind the radiator. The heat shield that wraps the cat wouldn’t fit at all. The welded mount for at the bottom corner was not right, so I couldn’t reattach the lower support bracket. The bends are close, but it presses hard on the oil pan. The included spring bolts for the rear exhaust join are the wrong size for a factory fit. All-in-all, it may get you by, but it is a far cry from an OEM fit. The only thing this has going for it is the price.

Fitted very well, no more check engine light on. Easy to install with all necessary hardware.

Excellent product

This converter fits the car, some screws that came with it did not so we had to use the old ones. Time will tell about the quality, it was just installed yesterday.
