Clear and good volume
Purchased for my elderly mom that is blind and a bit hard of hearing. The volume is very good for her, and the button is easy to use.

Bought for mom
This has been a GREAT purchase for my mom. She is very visually impaired and uses it at night when she gets up. (Helps her determine if she should go back to bed to try and sleep more, or go ahead and get up.). Worth it.

It works!
Loud & clear with two volume settings. Easy to set. Worked great for 97 year old mom with severe macular degeneration.

Here's how to lower the two factory volume settings (which are too darn loud for my normal hearing).
I really like virtually everything about this altogether well designed and manufactured product... EXCEPT that I (having reasonably "normal" hearing at age 67) find both of the available ("High/Low") volume settings (selectable via a sliding switch on the underside of the unit) too annoyingly loud for MY intended purpose (namely, to be able to reach over in the middle of the night and drowsily tap the unit's topside to hear the time spoken in a reasonably SOFT yet clearly discernible voice). So, here are the two things that I quickly, easily did to make this product's so-called "LOW" volume setting sound TRULY agreeably low:(1) I cut a piece of black, extra-wide, self-adhesive "Gorilla" tape such that it just covered all of the speaker port's numerous little holes. Simply applying that thick, non-porous tape significantly reduced the perceived sound volume.(2) Then, to further reduce the volume (as well as the somewhat "tinny" pitch of the digitized, American-English male voice), I set the unit atop an ordinary cotton (cushioning) brown washcloth that I'd folded twice. VOILA!I would humbly suggest to the manufacturer that they add my above, optional tips to their folded "Instructions" sheet that's included in their spiffy little printed-cardboard product box. Also note: To install 3 AAA batteries (which are NOT included), you will need a SMALL Phillips screwdriver to loosen/tighten the small, single screw that retains the battery-compartment door.

Stopped working
It was great for about 2 months and then stopped keeping correct time. Changed the batteries and 2 days later it started keeping the incorrect time again. It would move forward as much as 5 hours.
