Trevor Wye - Practice Book for the Flute - Omnibus Edition Books 1-6 - Flute Music Book Collection

My Uncle in Canada is a great flute and Irish tin whistle player. My Grandmother used to be a housekeeper for James Galways flute teacher (*MD) in Belfast and met him on many occasions. My Uncle says that this book is great and that "I can't go wrong". Can't afford the £35 per hour flute playing lessons so am assured that this book will stand me in great stead for the future. Unfortunately I will not live long enough to emulate my hero Uncle John or James Galway.....but by god I'm going to enjoy the flute for the next 20 to 30 years (assuming I live to 80 years old!!!!!) LMAO

This will take me some time to get the full benefit of! I love it! I’m an intermediate player and I would say this book has something for all levels of ability. If you’re serious about getting strong technique and making your playing awesome and accomplished you need this book! Take it steady and slowly and you’ll reap the rewards!

Oh how I wish I’d had this book 20 years ago. The explanations and guidance are clear and simple, the exercises really help and there is just the right level of detail. I have been using the book for about 3 weeks and the difference in my intonation and technique is noticeable. Amazing.

I have now opened the book and have been using the bbok and cd only to find that after several pages there is no link between the book and the cd. You have to find the cd passages yourself. They are not coded into the book. First time I have ever come across that. Is that the way the publisher planned it? Or has the book / cd not been tested?

Very good book and well written. Packed with lots of exercises. Must be able to read music to a good standard. Not suitable for a beginner.

I can seriously not recommend this book enough. This omnibus version includes all 6 of the books within the Trevor Wye practice book range, each one provides an in depth explanation on the concept then provides a large amount of exercises to reinforce the concepts discussed in the explanations. I'd recommend this book to more intermediate to advanced students or players, as many beginners may not completely follow all of the ideas within the book.
