Rick Riordan Presents: Storm Runner, The

Arrived in good condition, and I also love the book. Really interesting, in a good way. Would definitely recommend for those who like different types of mythology

Let me just start by saying it was Rick Riordan who hooked me on this genre. As an adult, though, at some point his writing no longer spoke to me. It just wasn't fresh or new anymore. Enter Cervantes with a fresh voice. I received this book in the mail on a Friday night and had it finished in 24 hours. It is action packed, which kept me reading. Cervantes writing is funny and her characters are like-able. Your root for Zane and Brooks up to the end. I appreciated Zane's insecurity over his lame leg. This is a great read for students who like action and adventure. The Maya mythology and culture was a nice #ownvoices touch.

I'm an avid fan of Rick Riordan, and happily followed his works from Percy Jackson through the Kane Chronicles, Heroes of Olympus, Magnus Chase, and Trials of Apollo series.So naturally, when I found out about the Rick Riordan Presents series, I was ready to follow it. The Storm Runner is a book that brings importance to my life as a Latino, as this book deals with Maya Mythology. It's a wonderful read that has great twists and a wonderful plot. Highly recommended.

Haven't been able to find something to read so I went out of my normal genre and am I glad I did. This is a fun engaging read for both adults middlegraders and anyone in between. This story is a beautiful journey following the character Zane Obispo as he grows into his lineage. Book one is packed with lots of vivid descriptions and thoughtful images of Myan Mythology. I enjoyed it and would recommend it as a light adventure filled read! J.C. Cervantes did an excellent job bringing these characters to life.

I love, love, love this book. Myth-fantasy books are my thing. I love to teach them to middle school age kids and this one really satisfies! My students were cringing, oohing and ahhhing. They loved the audiobook so much that I often heard them imitating Ozzie Rodriguez's narration for the god of death-Ah Puch. It works as a teaching tool or a fun read and the art my kids created for Mayan gods was amazing! They were spending their allowances to buy the sequel! If you liked Percy Jackson or Harry Potter you have got to give this book a try!

As I said in the heading, this book is so good. I love that its based in New Mexico, and that it incorporates Maya mythology. Beautiful! Amazing! I would definetely recommend this book to anyone. Enjoy the read!

This book arrived quickly! It was exactly as described.

This book! What can I say? I've been waiting all my life to read something like this. I was obsessed with Greek/Roman mythology, and as an adult, I've been a shameless fan of anything Rick Riordan. This book has action, heart, vivid characters, and a goddess of chocolate. I MUST see what Zane does next after that ending!!!!

I bought these for my 10-year-old grandson after he asked for them. He loves the books and reads every evening.

Zane is a kid who's the son of a Mayan god and he and his friend Brook are ready to save the world in each of the three books. Smart and witty, another tale of the gods appear. This is amazing (insert jazz hands) and for all readers who enjoyed Rick Riordan and Rick Riordan Presents, here's another excellent series with a modern depiction of the gods with humour and cleverness. If you enjoyed this, next stop for you is Aru Shah and the End of Time or the Percy Jackson books!

This was a fast-paced story with tons of Mayan mythology. I liked the way Zane changed during the course of the book as he found his courage and his destiny. The perfect book for anyone who likes Rick Riordan, mythology, or just fun adventure novels with likeable, relatable characters! Had a great time reading this book, while learning more about Mayan mythology.This first book in the series was my favorite last year and the second book is one of my faves this year!
