Works OK but slow as 3G.
I picked up some of these at Goodwill for $0.99 to try and also some from Netgear. They are only about half the size of the Netgear models, work better and don't get as hot. They are also faster and could do about 6 Mb. between 2 rooms in my house, which is not 85 but good enough for most things. They claim it has 56 bit DES Encryption for security to prevent eavesdropping which is also better than the Netgear. The Netgear HDX101 was $3 each. It has a sticker on it saying "200Mb" but I think they lift off a decimal point. I tried them between the same 2 rooms in my house and got speeds of about 0.2 Mb! It did work even if it was only at dial-up speeds but got so hot that I though it was going to melt down so I drilled some holes in each end of the cabinet for cooling. In another test I tried them from indoors to a storage shed outside so basically they were just going over a long extension cord and no house wiring. In that case both averaged 24 Mb which is the limit of my internet speed. Overall the Aztech is a better buy.
